Reviews for "MagnetiBall"

;( :(

it only shows 1/3 of the screen so i can't play

Same problem as everyone else

Laggy and really it just wasn't any fun at all.

The music was awful too

Poor.

The idea of magnets was wonderful, but once you implemented the 'change of gravity' it went down the drain. That is an overused idea and Im sorry you couldnt do better. It was not well polished either and the lag did bother me.

Promising premise but could use some improvement

I love puzzle games, and was excited about this game when I saw it on the front page. It looked like a good way to pass the time for awhile, and in all fairness, it is. What the game, in my opinion, is not though, is a great puzzle game.
The physics engine is alright, but it has a lot of weird and sometimes annoying quirks to it. The magnets, for example, are hard to control when you need delicacy as they are so powerful. When you dont need delicacy though, theyre great. What annoyed me the most about the physics was how much impact the spin of the ball would sometimes have. Sometimes the magnet would flip the ball into an extremely aggressive backspin, making the ball fly like a bat out of hell the wrong way as soon as it hit the ground. Other times, doing the seemingly same thing, it would have a forward spin, or none at all. I understand this is deliberate and that youre supposed to use it as a tool, but I found it very hard to master and control. It was very messy. The ball also had a tendency to bounce off walls and surfaces very amptly, making delicate movements even harder. Making the ball bounce around is a lot of fun, but in the aspect of completing levels, its very hard to control and leads to feeling like the game is more about luck than skill.
The turning of the screen kind of helped that in some levels, but the screenturning had some problems of its own. I didnt like how you sometimes could turn the screen and sometimes not. It seemed like a kinda cheap way to make levels and it pretty much let me down. Overall that was a very good addition to the game though.
Also I dont understand whats up with the highscores. I understand theyre supposed to be motivating, but they become quite annoying after awhile as theyre seemingly impossible to beat. I mean, someone had a highscore of 3 seconds on a level where the ball takes 4 seconds to drop towards the goal. I found myself wishing that aspect of the game wasnt there at all, or atleast that I could switch it off.
Overall, I think its a good attempt, but I suspect that the four of you may have had some sort of conflicting interests or visions of what kind of game you wanted to create. The game is not by any standard bad, but its very messy and a lot of the times skill seems to have little to do with anything. Maybe an extended tutorial explaining the more advanced aspect of controlling the ball would be a good idea?
Either way, good luck, and thanks for sharing your game with us.

not so much

good game but not so much
