Reviews for "MagnetiBall"

A Note

Freezes Pentium 4 Architecture, Prolly asking for too much from a physics game.

Good Game, Nice Concept...

But flawed in execution. Namely, the resolution at which you have to play the game in order to get access to all the necessary parts of the game. If you run a 1024_768 screen resolution (or a 1366_768) part of the game itself is chopped off by the newgrounds window. So at level four, you can't see the two magnets off to the side in order to access them. You have to download the game itself and run it seperately in order to play it right.

That, and the annoyingly repetitive music really killed it for me.

not bad

needs a different name though, since we hardly use the magnets on most puzzles.

p---a----t----i-----e----n----c----e

the idea is nice, but how come this need a high end pc? please do some optimization - that's why i give only half the stars the game might deserve

hmm, good idea, but...

Why no color? I mean, there's simplicity and then there's bland. This is bland. Like at least give the ball and those little spikey things a different color. And then there's the animation in the background -- it was distracting.. and when you spin the level left or right, all those bright vibrating lines just mess with your eyes. So, to improve it, I suggest removing that animated background (or just make it static?), consistent with the clean, minimalist approach that you're going for, but then add some color to make it look more fun and help the player differentiate the various game elements.

It took too long for it to get challenging... the first few levels were either really too easy or you would just get lucky, not much skill involved... and then it quickly got irritating, where the physics of the ball and the nature of the magnets seemed glitchy. Like, in one level, I was getting some weird back-spin on the ball when clicking and releasing on the magnet. Also, there's that delay in spinning/rotating the map which seems unnecessary -- you should be able to reverse the rotation mid-spin I think.

I like the rotating concept, reminds me of those little handheld games where you have to get the ball through the maze by rotating it... the magnet-ball aspect is also a good idea, but I think poorly executed. Actually, I'm sure it's all very playable and challenging, but the graphics and sound effects discourage me from continuing. Keep it up though, you're on to something.
