Challenging original game

I liked it very much it was nice to be challenged

O i c What you did thar =P

Black knight =P Very funny.

Artistically, it was pretty good, given the theme, sure i believe you could have gone a bit further with the details on the pieces, and maybe added a bit more shine to the sqaures, the overal artistic input given the concept was good enough =].

Gameplay was very innovative, which i liked, however the piece provacation thing turn the whole thing into a guessing game which quite frankly has never been what chess is about (which is the fact that chess relys more on logic than luck unless you are making sneaky moves hoping your opponent doesnt notice), i think the rook and bishop pieces should of been able to move the full length of the board adding more caution to their presense. Also knights can jump pieces too =p which is something i noticed when two pawns were blocking a teleporter, i couldent jump pawn A to kill pawn B, i instead had to provoke them...which seems to be that you just coded a square to that If knight here, pawn moves there =\..which was kind of annoying XD. I like the idea that you can change the knights moveset thanks to special panels and is in fact part of the puzzel, however there were moments where i didnt use those squares which was actually kind of disturbing as most puzzel games have a set method of solving them, which is why i was annoyed at the provocation thing, if your going to put a set method in earlier levels then why allow more freedom of choice in later ones =P.

Anyway i recon this could of been improved by making the rook and bishops move as many spaces in their direction as they like keeping the same principle for the knight when stepping on the corresponding sqaures, this taking from the game the irritation of only being able to move 1 or 2 squares a hit, and adding more of a challenge when faced with those peices, plus when the queen squares or the queen itself comes in it would be awesome.

Overall i love the innovation in this game given its one of the best uses of chess's concept, which is also why i disliked the changes made to the rook and bishop =[, if it was similar to chess in that manner then i probably wouldent have stopped playing at around level 22.
