haven't written a review in over a year
This game has great potential but there have to be more ways of getting money. so far its a vicious cycle of wondering around, finding ships (and here you either spend 5 minutes using cannon balls and save money, or spend 30 seconds while using bombs but use a lot of money) and during ship battles put a radar or a little map in there so I can see where the enemy is, i sometimes had to search for 5 minutes. So i found a few ships, killed them...good stuff, now I buy a bunch of grapes and away i go to get a new ship (steal it from the enemy, since its way cheaper this way), i take his ship....oh wait his cannons are crap... no i have to raise even more money. Unless you made up enough money before you took the enemies ship to upgrade your cannons, this will be a problem since even though you have a big ship its cannons are crap and expensive and the ship will get destroyed pretty easily. And thats pretty much it, thats the cycle, taking out ships, saving on money, stealing the enemies ship, upgrading the cannons, built up your crew, save up money, move to the next ship, theres no point what so ever to even attack the towns since they don't give you anything in return, maybe the capital will, i don't know it will take days to find that out so this is how the game pretty much goes so what I would suggest and other people probably said this:
1)More ways to make money:
-Missions from the capital (you belong to) to deliver packages or destroy enemies in areas and then comeback and collect money or ammo etc....
2)Make ammo/Crew/Cannons cheaper, Cannons are a big one
-Even after getting a better ship its cannons are on lvl 1 so its weaker that the previous one with lvl 3 cannons
3) Get a reward for conquering a city
-In the game you lose to much from taking it over and what do get in return? Nothing, No discount on crew or ammo or anything, no cash reward from pillaging the city, you just convert it under the country you belong to, and even after you conquer is it still says "attack" on it so......
Good game overall, Hope to see a more interesting version in the future that can be beaten in 2-3 hours.
