Reviews for "Witching Hour"

nice

errm....the game is good but a little bit too simple/easy...some upgrades, harder enemies (or more enemies) were pretty cool...

WarpZone responds:

Everyone seems to be saying "upgrades" first, then "more."

Will do. :) Thanks for the feedback.

good game

The game itself was good, but too easy. I neverr got damaged once. You should include more enemy variety, harder enemies, more attacks, and an upgrade system. I would like to see that in the future games if you make any.

WarpZone responds:

In the future games? Frell that. You'll be seeing it in THIS game now that I've had a few hours of sleep.

nice ^.^

fun and simpal but no story or telling of what your killing

Man that was fun

But it took me 30 mins to go through 3 stages - Something i'd expext on Halo.

Please make it harder, faster, and with more variety.

Nice job with everything else.

WarpZone responds:

30 minutes? I hope that was an exagerration... Hit the ~ key to bring up the debug display, and let me know how slowly the game is running for you.

10 minutes per stage... naw. When I playtest, it's less than one loop of the background music. Hmmm.

Really get back to me about the FPS. I'm pretty sure you're exagerrating, but I need to know by ~how much~.

enjoyed it ..

its beautifully made, the background is amazing, the monsters are beautifully drawn the music is so soothing i liked the smoke effect .. even the witch is cute!

but its a shame that there are no power ups, i mean perhaps after beating the boss there could be a upgrades page, which you use your points to purchase upgrades.

just a thought ..

WarpZone responds:

It's halfway implemented in code, I just ran out of time last night. Then sleep occurred.

I was weak! But don't worry, I'm refreshed now and ready to make it up to you. :)

Priority 1 is adding collectable powerups during a level, and scaling the enemy difficulty to expect you to collect them. Between-level powerups would only make sense if you needed to do something specific to earn them, such as horde points/kills. Not saying I couldn't go that route, but it's not my first inclination. Sh'muppers tend to horde points anyway as a matter of principle, especially if there's a top score list involved.

We'll see. If I have plenty of leftover time, I may add a buyable permenent powerup between stages. But at the moment, collectable powerups seem to make more sense because it changes up the dynamics of the mid-stage gameplay. Thanks for the feedback, though. :) IM me after the next release if you have further suggestions.
