Just one thing: if I remember correctly, the islams allowed other religions provided a tax was payed. They were actually quite tolerant by European standards.

When they first invaded, they did not allow other religions fairly. My ancestors (and I) are Zoroastrians, and my great great great ancestors had to flee to India to survive.
