Ohhhh boy, this game. This here game. This. Game. Whoah jeez, this game.

First off, if you don't have awesome amounts of patience, you're better off somewhere else. This game takes a lot of dedication to beat. You're a snail. What do you expect?

This game was originally made for a competition on the "Longest Lasting Game" but I didn't win anything. Of course I didn't win anything when I'm going up against famous developers and major corporations with a whole damned TEAM of developers. I'm just one dude!

Well, here you go: one heaping plate of SNAIL. Don't worry, you'll level up and gain upgrades. Sorta.

Theres no music. Add your own soundtracks! While Turbo-Spinning, make race car noises! VRRRRRRRRRR EEEERRRRR SKEEEEEE ERRRR! While jumping, go WHOOOOSH! Play some crappy music you have stored on your computer to help the time pass and pray you don't break your right arrow key!

The ending makes up for the whole thing. I swear.

ALSO: For those of you who are asking "why the colons in the name?" its because "Snail" and "The Snail" were taken and I am uncreative so heres some colons

ALSOALSO: Oh hey, daily third. That is better than nothing.

Why not read what the game is

before getting your hopes up? The description tells you what it pretty much is, so why are you disappointed that it is what it says it is? I thought this game was fun and creative. I liked seeing all the snail upgrades.

Frankly I'm kinda pissed off. And here's the thing - I wouldn't be pissed off if I didn't think this game and you as a game designer had potential. It's evident from graphic and animation and from general design of the game that you know what you're doing. Also the concept of a game controlling a snail could be an original fresh view on gaming. Which makes it all that more a shame when someone with talent like yourself ups and decides to create a game that not only taxes the gamers patience to it's limits - it does so with disrespect and overabundant cynicism. I just don't get it! You could have done ANYTHING with this game but instead you chose to create a one-button controlled game with no real purpose, rhyme or reason to it - except perhaps to laugh at the expense of the gamers involved. You say that you lost the contest the game participated in since you were contesting against Teams. Is it so hard to believe that perhaps the game just WASN'T GOOD or funny or original in anyway? I'm sure not having a decent SOUNDTRACK didn't help in any way. I've seen all sorts of these ANTI-GAMES over the net and specifically in Newgrounds. People always rant about them for bad or worse, saying how original and stupifying they are - but in the end if you've played one game where all you have to do is go to the right - you've played 'em ALL!
So what REALLY gets me here is that if you would have used your imagination and thought things over a bit - you could have come up with a GREAT game. I mean, yeah, Snails crawl REAAALY slowly. But they can also climb any surface, they have tentacles, they have a protective shell...while you seemed to implement some of these movements into the game - they obviously had no real use as all you had to do is walk to the right..
Doing what you've done here is the easy way out, unoriginal, cynical and perhaps even somewhat funny to yourself. But if you'd really wanted to ace the concept you could have made a REAL piece of gaming, one actually worthy to be played. But it seems you took the easy way out instead of really using that noggin' of yours which evidently works great if you can create these good level animations and graphics. Seriously, if you'll just think about it - you'll that in truth the potential is quite unlimited for a unique game were you control a Snail.

You're missing the point. I didn't want to make anything other than a "Press Right" game. No wall-climbing, tentacle rape, or protectiveness was needed because (in my opinion) it would've ruined the game. All I wanted a simple game where all you had to do was hold the Right key until either you won or broke your finger. The references and exploding power-ups along the way are just there to make it interesting.

Be the snail. BE.

Hilarious idea, perfect execution. I'm tempted (not too much, though) to replay and see if I can find all the awards. (I probably won't.)

Some games test your reflexes, others test your logic. Who says patience can't be a legitimate gaming skill? I noticed you filed this under "Action (Other)". I couldn't think of a better way to classify this game.
