I get that same feeling a lot. In my group of friends, I always feel like the wet blanket who keeps everyone from doing stupid shit and getting arrested or killed and then I suffer for it. Several of my friends have called me uptight and a little to strung up, but that's just how it is.

I keep people from doing stupid shit and then I get them out of stupid shit when it happens. I'm not the cool one by any means, but I'm definitely the smart one, so that's my lot.

Now, with my college friends, things are basically the same with the exception that I'm not the smartest one. I'm still the common sense one, but I tend to get ignored in favor of a good time. I mean, I can't stop every one of my friends from lighting alcohol on fire in the middle of a public park, now can I?

You and seem to have lived parts of the same life. I meet alot of girls and talk to my fair share, but never hook up. Maybe it's because I'm scared of a relationship...perhaps I am, but that doesn't change the fact that I really want one. Anyway, many of my girl friends tell me that, "I'm the kind of guy that women want to marry". I like to think of that as a compliment, but I kinda sucks if I'm just looking to hook up. I don't really have any advice for you except to tell you to keep doing what your doing. If they didn't stick around b/c of that shit then they weren't your true friends anyway.
