Rage's gift to you: Abusive reviews

Well, we all know about the new whistle-blowing system that has just been recently implemented, and that we can get points by flagging abusive reviews. So I thought that I'd be ever-so-kind and share a handful of my findings with you people. Im posting it in this forum because it could be like "Where are abusive reviews"?, thus the where is/how to forum, and the fact that not many people come here, it's mostly the NG elite.

The nice thing is, is that these reviews are in dusty corners of NG. Half of them that I flagged have never before been flagged by anyone else, so there is plenty of room for you all to toss in your flag too.

So, the following are links that lead you to a single page of reviews, followed by the number of abusive reviews that appear on that page. Because reviews are always being written, It's a possibility that some may have been knocked off by the time I delivered this message.

100% of the abusive reviews I mention are abusive because they advertise other sites, which fall into two categories (porn, and outwar/pornstar, etc.)

Well, I decided to drop in for the day and I noticed that a lot of those "Abusive" reviews are now gone. I still managed to rack up a few of this list today but I don't think I'm going to be ranking up anytime soon. I already have a Silver Whistle as it is. Once again, thanks a lot, RageVI.

I'm still suprised nobody has made a club for this, yet. I don't think it would be a great idea, though.

I can use this thread to publicize those games that people check less often. For instance, somebody outwar spammed EVERY game in This Dress-Up Collection - go to each, check the reviews, and you'll see it.

Just look in everything that comes off of the front page. That's where all the outwar idiots go.

That said, the dress-up ones have a lot of idiots that go something like this:

"FUCK. SUX. FAGGET. DIE."

So yeah... go through all of the hentai and dress-up things, you'll find a billion.

I usually check the top 50 for outwar idiots.. about a week ago I found a profile that had over 50 reviews, all outwar, and had a review in all of the top 50 (one reason why I wondered why I started the "Whistle Level" thing at bronze...)

As usual, I'm not joining (I'm not into clubs...), but it's something to keep in mind, check on, and/or just look at.

I hope they make review mods, and I hope I have a chance at being one. Although what would be even superior to that is a chronological list of reviews for mods/users to pick out abusive reviews no matter where they are hiding, and also anybody keeping a regular eye on it will notice an abusive review as soon as it comes in.

I'd love to be able to delete reviews of outwar spammers like that instead of just flagging them and letting them sit around until an admin takes care of it. (One reason is because people posting outwar links in reviews also brings up other people to post just saying "STOP WITH OUTWAR REVIEWS" which is just as spam-ful if they didn't even watch the movie.)

Why is the focus on Outwar is something I don't get. Although it is the probably the site that is spammed the most, all other attempts to get people to go to an outside website is just as bad.

Yeah I know, there were recently 3 website spammers that went around the NG front page flash entries, 2 of them were outwar, and another one was trying to get people to go to his "online shop" - which may or may not be outwar, etc... - but the point is you can't advertise ANY outside, unrelated links - so I flagged all 3 as abusive, but I checked back just now, the outwar ones were at 0/10, the other was only at 0/5...

Also, I just found a load of abusive reviews in the current Turd of the Week - you guys may want to check it out.

Well.. I mark abusive on other sites too (like on half of the dress-up collection games, there were 2 or 3 people giving links to "free porn") But I just said outwar there because 99% of the time when someone reviews just to tell someone else to stop spamming (which I have seen quite a few times) it had to do with an outwar-link review before it. Even though their review was "DON'T CLICK ON THEIR OUTWAR LINK" it still contributed to the spam. I agree that the other links are just as bad, its just that they don't cause "reaction-spam" such as other people only reviewing to say "STOP POSTING OUTWAR LINKS"

Yeah I hate those reviews. They're not abusive, so I don't mark them as such, but they are total review crap.

The brighter side of all this is I'm marking a lot more reviews yes/no as well. I think this kind of traffic is good, and rewards/punishes users accordingly.

How do you know they're not outwar fans just pulling a fast one? Also, how does your whistle rank drop? Is it by marking non-abusive reviews abusive? Is it a time thing?

Ive wondered about that as well... because whistle rank is positively effected when a review is deleted and you marked it abusive. BUT how would your rank go down? Since you found it abusive, but not enough people have gotten to it yet, it wouldn't be deleted.

Its possible that its only negatively effected by blowing the whistle on a movie that ends up not breaking the rule you claimed it did. Since I can't really think of a way reviews would work.

Wow, this thread took flight, didn't think it would...Yeah I was thinking of making a full update with big pages of abusive reviews and their profiles (if any) to flag all reviews. But it looks like you people have the hang of it!

you guys seem to be posting abusive reviews. im very thankfull. but they are all ones that are outwar. they only have websites. is that the only thing u guys count as abusive. cant it be just someone saying.
