As you may or may not know, me and a group of 33 exceptional flash artists have been working on the Tutorial Collab '08 over the past several months. It is an enormous collection of flash tutorials, from the basics such as frame actions to complex 3D lighting. As a sequel to the largest tutorial ever made, this takes the award yet again with 83 tutorials, and over 1100 pages of help and advice for flash artists.

The previous collaboration has taken over 230,000 views, again topping the records for known total views. It can be viewed here. I understand that the interface was not of the highest caliber back then, but this was over 1 1/2 years ago, and, as such everything has been improved to a mirror shine for this project. In this collab, every glitch that has been recognized has been sorted and the UI has been polished to a shine.

Please find attached a copy of the tutorial (still contains deliberate glitches to stop it spreading without permission). There is an overlay to stop theft of the project, which happened on the last collab, sorry about this.

I feel obliged to tell you that I've contacted other sponsors as well as SPONSOR so there may be some other offers coming in.

as well is spelled "aswell" and thats about it, maybe put in the words "In Depth" after "pages of" so basically pages of in-depth help and advice for flash artists.

Not to sound like im nagging or anything, but those sponsors need to be convinced, as you already know too well.

Mine is almost perfect, thanks for what you've done so far. :)

Here's some thing I noticed:

-In my tut (using the mic) just the two explanations of the code after the first one are slightly off screen, and in one of the steps where it says now press the back arrow is half off the screen.

-In Pong the next buttons are slightly screwed. Noticed it also in the Right Click Menu as well (probably in more).

-In the platformer the guy still falls through the floor.

-All the sigs still say 07.

That's the final version? I can't find all my tuts (was it 7 or 9?). Also, the examples are all screwed up in my tuts, the scripted camara tut still shows my Pseudo 3D figures, and my tile-based engine still shows nothing where there should be an AS2 thing showing (maybe that's the problem--as2?). I can't find my OOP tutorial or my Basic PHP tutorial. Did you use the changes I made in the file/make the changes I send you in my error text file?

I'd also like to point out a flaw in Trig's AS2 to AS3 article - he says that _root died and there's no real replacement. That's not really true. It's alive and well - just without the underscore, and you need to specify the class you're referring to it through otherwise Flash gets confused:

trace(MovieClip(root).x); // Output = 0

stage is now also an object - the display heirachy goes:

stage > root > user created objects on root > nested objects > more so > e.t.c

So root is the main timeline and is nested on the stage, which doesn't have a timeline but is still top of the display list and the first stop for events being called and junk.

The examples on paranoia's platformer tutorial dont work. The character falls through the ground.

Under "Actionscript > Right Click Menu 2" there is a glitch where it scrolls through 2-3 pages by itself when you press next/back.

I know from experience that it's time consuming and takes time (redundant, but true). Don't worry about it, just get it done when you can ;)
