actually no swift 3d does the same thing only pre-renders animations to be used in flash. Only way to manipulate 3-D actually in flash is using Flash drawing API and only if you know a shitload about geometry/programming/math.
Flash's sister product "Director", however can import 3d objects so you can manipulate them on the fly

3DS MAX 9 costs $3,495, and slightly cheaper for an upgrade from previous versions. And it's better than Blender on so many levels. I mean, I'm new to the program but I can create such amazing stuff like particle effects and full character animation. I took me a while to save up for though :0

holy crap that's expensive as hell you could almost get 5 ps3's with that...

anyway i love looking at 3d stuff it's really cool.

you could use the processing power to render the more detailed pics.
...but then you'd have 5 doorstops. really cool looking doorstops.

wow suddenly this thread just exploded! Anywho - here is my latest test, I wanted to make it as realistic as I could, I still need to add eyebrows and eyelashes, Unfortunately this is all of the model. I wanted to focus on the eye. This took about 3 hours from start to finish - started from a plane. Please give me some critiques (no matter how cruel :) )

thats very good, the detail is good, although the eye does look a bit... well... ratlike, its small and also there is less distance between the top of the eye and the eye ridge, almost none, look at yourself in the mirror youll see what i mean. sorry, its nitpicking but you asked.

That is an awesome eye! Did you make your own textures? My only critique is that the part of the eye where the eye-brow goes is a bit to extended. But still, awesome!

haha ya it sorta does look ratlike, next try I'll give myself more room to work on it so I can try to get better proportions. I used a reference photo for the top eyelid - and I think I got it about right, some people have really small ones and others don't, then again the eye in the reference pic was sorta closed.

thank you, ya I made the texture but I used one of the standard materials. I agree with the eyebrow, next time I'm going to put it on a whole head so it will be easier to get it to look right.

Basically this is just my hobby, I live in the same city as Bioware so I'm trying to get work there but competition is rough, and I don't have that much experience. I gotta find a way to get paid tho cuz all this stuff eats at your time :)

I'm going to need to do a total remake of most of the face I think

Started out as a simple sketch, but I took alot more time with it trying to a more realistic human shape. I haven't modeled the ear yet really, and I just threw the colours on really quick so in the final they should be better.

Hey guys. First post in years (which makes this my second I think?) I figure I might start posting some stuff.

This pic is a little something I did awhile back, trying out V-ray...

It's entitled - "More Wine?"

To see it in it's original size, check it here

Another piece I did some months back.

Created in 3DS MAX and post work in Photoshop. It's the first "complete" face I've done.

To see pic in original size, check it here

It's entitled "Staring Back at You"

Hey, here's something that I was working on a couple weeks back. I was teaching myself how to use Zbrush 3 for the first time. I've taken a break from working on this, but plan to make some time later on to finish it. There's still alot of work to be on the entire thing.

(You'll have to excuse the nudity if it offends you.)

Awesome, very realistic. Not a very attractive body, it has excellent character. Professional.
