Can the images be imported in to flash? And more to the point, can they be manipulated in a 3D way, in flash?

easiest way is to export as .jpeg and use "Trace bitmap"

and only with some heavy AS can they be made into game style 3d.

Can someone tell me why blender is so f*ckin' slow?? It starts off okay, but then as I make something, it slows down to a halt, I thought it might be the number of undo's available, but puttin' that on 1 as opposed to 64 makes no difference... annoying.

I had that problem too, I don't know why. Maybe becasue it's free? I used it once, only becasue I found 3DS MAX too hard, but now I've found some tutorials for it so I've dumped Blender :)

3DS Max, is that free? Sounds not. And, is it better than Blender?

3DS MAX 9 costs $3,495, and slightly cheaper for an upgrade from previous versions. And it's better than Blender on so many levels. I mean, I'm new to the program but I can create such amazing stuff like particle effects and full character animation. I took me a while to save up for though :0

Does it work in a similiar way to Blender? If so, I'll learn Blender, then get the trail of 3DS max.

Wow, just looking at what you can do with that program, in a video. Astounding, the wet cloth cling capabilities, the hair collision etc. amazing. I must get that program.

well, I know you can have it render a 3D animation frame by frame and put it into a certain location, if thats what your talking about. Then its as simple as copy and paste. If your talking about 3D in flash, you may want to check out Swift3D I believe...

Still, blender is a good starting out program, and even the newer versions have what your talking about, Particle effects, and the character animation, simple as adding an IDK handle and skelly to the shell. But if you wanna pay thirty-five hundred for it, by all means, don't let me stop you, just let me say this, where there is a program, there is a plug-in. Any program can be plugged to be just as good as another.

Blender slows down due to its coding. Don't forget, it takes every object and labels it, and EVERY SINGLE ACTION and with it EVERY OBJECT'S STATUS. So really, when you have about 30 undos queved up, your pretty much looking at 30 different working screens. I fixed this problem simply by using the Decimate command, then afterwards, when I had all the basics done, start the fine tuning. It worked well, and I stuck with blender, unlike the many many many people that have gone to 3D Max.

--One word of advice, I sat down to my Friend's computer, He showed me Maya 6.0, and I still, after years of using that program, think that blender is better.--

Well, 20 minutes of blender, no alpha or premade maps, and I think it turned out pretty well...

But...we're at Maya 8.5...how can you judge something that is so far back in versions? Whatever, there must be a reason why proffesionals use Maya and 3DS instead of Blender.
