The last time I played there were 6 people online. On the world server, there were 6 people playing. I'm not even kidding.
£18 for Tomb Raider Trilogy.
Right bargain.

Sure do, I'm a straight up beast.

Yeah sure. It's come on a lot since release though. I've got virtually no issues with it now. And it's way prettier than anything else right now.

Does anybody remember the Rockstar PS2 game Canis Canem Edit/The Bully? I just found my old copy of it, and needless to say, I'm hooked again.

I rented it when it first came out on PS2. Never managed to complete it to 100% though, which sucked.
I would like to join because I always play Ps3 online and this is seems like a cool club!

I hear you. I've been wanting to play some BFBC: 2 for the past four days. :/ There isn't a date on when the PSN is going back up either so it could be today, a couple of days from now or even a week or two. I hope it's just a few more days. I'd like to try out Dead Space 2's multiplayer as well.

So Sony has lost everyone's personal information to the hacker, including your username and password, and they "cannot rule out the possibility" that they have also lost credit card information to him too.
I'm sorry Sony, but that isn't fucking good enough.
Last time I'll be giving be trusting them with any of my information. Never buying from the store again.

It's a fucking travesty that they waited a week to tell us.
I'm cancelling my card as we speak.

I can't even get through to Lloyds to cancel mine. Just keeps saying it's busy.

You could just use a points card and not be an overly excited cunt.

Cancelling a card is detrimental to your credit score. Dont do that. Just watch your visa and maybe give them a call to put a fraud alert note on your card.

Yeah guys there is no need to be rash about it. Sure Sony should have mentioned a week ago but they didn't know a week ago exactly what information had or possibly has been taken.
I've checked my bank statement and it has no fraudulent spending. To be honest I don't imagine any PSN users will actually have their bank accounts used. It's just about security now and advising the users just in case anything should happen.
And I don't blame Sony for getting hacked really. It happens. Now they'll ensure that it won't happen again. Trial and error or something. Besides I still uphold that we're not going to have a perfect setup for something we don't pay for, online is just extra for us PS3 owners really. Sony have given us this gift for a long time now without any problems in the past. The first time their system gets compromised and you guys think it's the final straw somehow?
Breaches sadly do happen. And cancelling cards takes minutes with you bank usually. Sure they then take a few days to arrive along with the new pin but it's not the most inconvenient thing in the world to sort out if you want peace of mind.

This is what I'll have to do if I want to buy more stuff from PSN. Maybe the security will improve after this but if it's happened once, it doesn't give the customers enough confidence since it could happen again. Sure, it could happen to Nintendo or Microsoft but it's happened to Sony now...
I'm a little confused.
Sony said they were sending out emails to it's users regarding the breach. I was of the impression it was everybody. Now there are some sites saying only a few people(few out of 70 million mind you) were affected therefore only the affected will get an email. I have received no email from Sony yet.

But I don't want to give them my money when they've fucked up this badly. I had to spend all of yesterday changing my passwords on everything, and then had to go into the bank today to cancel my debit card. Why should I support them at all?
This is literally the biggest fuck up from any video game company I can think of. I'll be very wary about trusting Sony on anything again.

Yeah, but John, if the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.
They've been unable to protect information they promised would be secure and then dicked about for a week before informing us our card details may have been stolen. It's not like they've just lost your save files or deleted your trophies.
So, how about those hackers?
Changed all my passwords, but haven't cancelled my debit card because the bank said they've taken "precautions" so I'm safe. As soon as it's back on I'm deleting all my info and changing my password.
Massive improvements need to happen to make the system as good as bulletproof, because I'll just turn my back if something like this happens again. Some form of compensation wouldn't be a bad idea either.

Hey guys.
Look, I know that PSN's been hacked, but even so I have problems playing online. First, do I have to update my PS3 so I can play online (which I want to do after this ordeal is over)? I appreciate any help.
I might ask for some more help in the future though.

They hired in experts to find the problem. I don't believe Sony withheld anything. They weren't aware of the full extent themselves.
Also may have does not equal definately has.
My PSN account and credit card details presumably still exist, but due to YLoD sometime last year I've not logged in and can't change any details.
Am I still in any kind of risk?

If they were on Sony's servers, you are at risk.
Is it unreasonable of me to expect a multi-billion dollar company to have some sort of method of protecting my personal information?

Credit card information WAS ENCRYPTED
CVV numbers do not exist on the PSN servers
personal data WAS NOT encrypted but was "protected"
when PSN comes back you will need to change your password
Sony will alert users ahead of time when they restore the PSN
Sony is using law enforcement and the security firm to find the person responsible "no matter where in the world they're located"
So it's not as bad as previously thought but still pretty bad.

Was just about to post this. I'm glad everything's okay in regards to the credit card details, but I'm confused as to why the rest of the information wasn't encrypted?
In non-fuckup related news, does anyone know how to turn off trophy notifications? Can't stand the fucking dings all the time.

But that's my favorite part! :c
I guess it's because I don't get them as much that it doesn't bother me
I've been amazed at how much I was missing out on when I stopped playing single player. I just recently finished Silent Hill which was awesome and I was grinding it out for some good times on Castle Crashers too. I have Abe's Odyssey too but I haven't really done anything with it yet.
