What happened to not discussing UJ flash on the Portal? There is none of it here. Please don't discuss it, as it will only make us look like a blam club. If it is spam on the Portal, it'll be easy enough to see. It's pretty obvious what the authors are going to do with this flash series, and it's up to the voter to figure out what to do about it. Thanks.

What happened to not discussing UJ flash on the Portal? There is none of it here. Please don't discuss it, as it will only make us look like a blam club. If it is spam on the Portal, it'll be easy enough to see. It's pretty obvious what the authors are going to do with this flash series, and it's up to the voter to figure out what to do about it. It's not so much that you don't have a right, it's just that discussing it like that puts a bias on how people vote. That is the premise of a blam club, which is a group that targets certain flash and tries to mass-vote. Portal Spammers are the same thing, except that they all mass-vote to protect flash on the portal. Obviously we're not in either game, as we vote fairly on all flash.

When we say "look at this spam on the Portal," that is making us look like a blam club, which is against the rules. Ask the mods what they think of blam clubs, and you'll see how easily they'll lock this thread if we get into that mentality.

While your intentions were noble, it'll just end up biting us in the ass in the end. If the NG Levels thing is genuinely spam, your average Elite Guard is skilled enough to notice that right way and take proper actions. I know the spam on the Portal can be very frustrating. However, they are technically not breaking any Portal rules, so we can't do anything to them but vote fairly. Hopefully justice will prevail and more people will vote fairly rather than vote with a bias.

No, it's the just the Sunshine Crew. They came around last year and spammed the portal with essentially the same flash every time. Allegedly they were done, but they seem to have resurfaced. Since they are organized and they co-author each other, I don't know who let him do that, since he doesn't have the SS account co-authored. I'm trying to find out is it should be counted as a genuine SS flash or spam.

Yeah right! The SS not only have proxies and auto-voters going on those flashes, they also have the infamy where people say "oh, they had so many flashes pass last year, why not get a protect point?"

Ah, the sunshine crew. How I did NOT miss them.

Though we can't discuss how to vote on these things, I think we know how we should do it.

And I haven't seen this one yet, either since I'm at work and anything past the BBS is blocked (how gay...).

Anyway, one thing to keep in mind when you see a Flash is that if it has a long intro and then is introduced to a crap loop (i.e. a lot of KK, SS, GG, Socom stuff) it is considered an ILLEGAL SPAM Flash. That's right. Illegal. Feel free to flag them all. It's in the updated rules that these are not welcome here and if they aren't welcome, I feel they're flag-worthy.

On a lighter note, I only have 172 more B/P to get my next level. I would imagine Clock Day will send me over this mark by quite a bit so I am looking forward to that. Hopefully it'll get me about 1/2 way thru the next level, too!

I've also noticed my saves are quickly catching up to my blam points. I have 2,740 blams and 2088 saves. It used to be about 2:1 so this just shows how much is getting thru the portal nowadays. Or how bad I am at B/P...

I've also moved past the top 800 B/Pers, so that's a nice mark to meet.

I also need to challenge myself to review more. I've slowed WAAAY down lately because of the redesign. I mean, it's not a lot of fun to review if you'll never know if the artist answers you or not. At least nto without going back thru and trying to remember every review you wrote and what Flash it's under.

I do hope this gets fixed soon.

That and the review updates under submitted Flash. It says it updates you when they are new, but it doesn't work. It still says one of mine has 89 reviews, none new, but in truth it's more like 95 reviews now. Bleh.

God i personally would get annoyed if spam members like that constantly joined all the time. But i have seen it done so many times in the Mafia and in the NGPD. But more so here because they all seem to think this place is about role playing. Where would they get such an idea? Well anyway thats just what i think on the matter.

Well, to be fair, this thread originally WAS about role playing (I even said that to ramagi on the first page), but it has since evolved. Also, the n00bs that don't even know about B/P ranks (let alone the Elite Guard) will not know. That's why I'm often called "Sergeant EagleRock..."

I have returned because the site that Slash's story is on has this thing where you have to wait 15 mins. before you can start reading again. That really does suck cause i was starting to get into the story as well. But anyway anything else happen while i was away?

There is nothing rulebreaking about that flash. It's cats, not people. Hateful refers more towards racism or major personal attacks and such.

What I think is irrelevant. It's what the NG staff and the moderators think. The only reason I said anything is because I didn't feel like getting an earful from the moderators about it.

But, since RSQViper revealed that it is now against the rules to spam the portal as he said, then it's okay to talk about it. The only reason I said anything in the first place was basically to not get locked.

Anyway, time for a:

DEFCON Update:

In case anyone didn't notice, there's a good amount of flash on the Portal. While 13 UJ flash isn't that much considering the way the Portal used to be, it's only going to increase as we get closer to midnight. That being said, I'm increasing the DEFCON to DEFCON 2. Be aware that it will only get worse, and as we all know, midnight will usher in dozens of flash.

Use the Portal Guard if you can, as well as the "More Recent Submissions" page, as it will undoubtedly hit over 50 UJ flash. As of midnight, consider the DEFCON to automatically increase to DEFCON 1 until midnight tomorrow. It's been a long time since we had DEFCON 1, so make the most out of it.

Hope to see you all there out on the Portal taking care of what needs to be done. Remember to stay true to your beliefs and have fun!

Hopefully my alarm will work, and I'll be up at 2 or 3 in the morning. I'll B/P for an hour or 2, get some sleep, wake up, go to work after squeezing in some B/P, come home by 12, B/P as long as I can, go back to work at 3:30, come home at 8:30 and B/P until 11, when my parents will be pissed I spent so much time on the computer.

That's the highest DEFCON level there is. Where else is there to go? DEFCON 0 is not a real DEFCON level. I've called on DEFCON 1 only about 3 or 4 times since I started the Barracks. One was Clock Day, one was when the 300000th flash was being battled for, and only one or two times besides that.

Don't take DEFCON 1 lightly...
