Like I said, they aren't suppose to be submitted. Stolen just might not be the right label for them as they are being created. I said it before, but it seemed that people ignored my post.
It actually takes an hour or two to create the game and they all look identical because the program comes with the graphics in it just for the sake of the tutorial. It helps people focus on the functions without having to worry about the art at first.
I'm sure if you look closely they aren't exact copies. For example, one might have placed the bricks differently or made the score add up differently. All of that doesn't matter though as it's been made clear NOT to submit them. (like I said before, stolen just doesn't seem fitting when it's not stolen)
On the other hand, if they created one with multiple levels and made it their own by using different graphics and changing the gameplay dramatically then it would be ok. I planned on making one of my own with about 5 levels, the high score system, my own graphics, and a story/plot behind it. It would probably take a day for each level, but knowing the time that I have with student teaching I won't be doing that until this summer.
Download the program and test it out for yourself before you make assumptions about things. (Aimed towards everyone) It's really not that hard and you can do amazing things with it (just like flash or even better) with some practice.

Well thanks for the inFROmation. I'm not really interested in making games in the slightest, only playing them. Plus, it doesn't look like it makes the greatest games :/ I'll PM Tom for the hell of it and see what he thinks about it. I don't want to be flagging these falsely, but if it guides you to create the exact same game every time, I don't think that those should be submitted.
If someone walked me through stealing someone else's things with a tutorial, it's still theft - I just followed somebody else's instructions. It's still not their own work really...

I wouldn't say it's a greay area at all - if in doubt, don't flag it. Sure, these people are encouraged not to submit that piece that is made from the tutorial, but to go on and develop their own pieces. Personally, if I were just starting out, I'd love to get a submission under my belt and find out what it's like and if I'm doing things right / can I get some help from people.

If it were shit, Newgrounds wouldn't associate themselves with it. We're making progress here and the pieces shouldn't be flagged. While some of them are a little rough around the edges and possibly deserve to get blammed, they aren't abusive, as the deleted flash should give the submitter an idea of where they went wrong - feel free to review them and give them some encouragement.

Well, I disagree with your reasoning, but I'm not going to bother explaining why because that's probably what Tom's thinking is, especially seeing how there's a games factory forum now. I Pmed him about it anyway just to get the final verdict on the matter. I will post here when and if he replies.
Thanks for the bit of clarification on the Choco Break situation. Personally, I find breakout to be boring unless the author really thinks outside of the box. Many of the Choco Breaks move too fast, have no pause when you lose a life, and are overall, very dull -- I always vote low if they've done nothing to improve the original design.
They do have some differences: some authors put in extra modes, which is good for them. I've seen a lot of crappy ones too. It's the lack of variety that really bores me. What really gets me is the fact that they always pass.

I seem to remember playing it a very long time ago, when Assassin had its own special page on Newgrounds. The guy has a sign-up date of 2003, yet I don't think they made any Assassin games beyond 2006...

Even then, Assassin has been around since at least 1996 (if the blurb is to be believed), and the Taco Bell Chihuahua was retired from commercials in 2000. I played that game before I even signed up. I remember it so much. It has got to be stolen, but I can't find an actual link anywhere on Newgrounds.

I stand corrected then. I knew that he didn't want them to be submitted, but I just didn't see "stolen" as a proper label. I see stolen as not making the piece, but I see where he's coming from. I do suggest making sure you know what the original looks like though so if you run into a situation where they made one a lot different just using the tutorial as a guide that it should be ok. For example, the one that I plan on making with my own graphics and whatnot.
Also, check out on Clickteam's profile to see other tutorials that shouldn't be submitted!
I see the medals on your page are gone I wondered where they had gone ,turns out it is happening to lots of people. I'm not as bothered as I don't really play many games with medals still annoying for people. I see the crying face has replaced it hopefully it will be fixed shortly.

Yea hopefully it's a quick fix, people have been freaking out about it. All you have to do is get a new medal, and poof! all your other medals reappear. Simple fix right thur.

Remember that little rant I went on a few pages back about hentai galleries and such submissions getting through? Although that Flash was eventually removed after winning a daily award, I did not foresee the recent porno-geddon in the Portal. Looks like the powers that be got fed up with all that trite polluting the place, or perhaps all the gallery creators finally came to their senses in one way or another and asked to have their subs deleted (as unlikely as it seems). It's an odd feeling - i'm relieved that these half-assed things are off the site, but at the same time I have a terrible feeling of loss.
Aside from that, nothing else to report at the moment. I am also not B/P'ing as frequently as I once have. Seeing so many stolen Flash entries pass, as well as poor subs that receive rapidly decreasing scores and would have been BLAMmed if they had gotten 8 or more votes to do so - it has really been a wall-banger for me.
The standards have seemingly fallen through the floor and I feel that it is only appropriate to make them tighter to ensure better quality. My solution: an extended judgment period if a Flash is "Borderline" - a new category between Under Judgment and Near Death that is reserved for Flashes that are borderline BLAM or passing.
This means that anything within a score of 1.5-1.65 after the standard voting period can be ensured a better chance of either survival or deletion. To prevent the "Borderline" from being a quick mass-vote period to pass or BLAM a Flash, the status will be kept hidden to everyone, including the author. Turd of the Week won't be affected at all by this, at least I don't think it will affect legit 'winners', so I think it will support the Portal ecosystem without affecting too much.
Does anyone have a thought on this?

I have strong suspicions with this flash. The submitter looks legit, he has a email address from a website called badge games but the game isn't even submitted on there.
The game originates from Wolferion Entertainment, and can be seen on that website. These guys have submitted the game to kongregate and it's legitimately through their own account.
I would personally be inclined to flag this. Opinions?

the links in the .swf go to different websites than the one he's trying to get you to go to in the author comments as well. Perhaps pm Tom and ask him to take a look at the guy to see if he has some sort of agreement worked out with the original authors, or if he made them originally for the websites in the flash, but didn't bother to change them before submitting?
