Heh, just went through the first 3 pages of his posts, and you ain't kidding. If he seriously wants to get nominated for this list, he'll need to sort that out... but somehow, I get the feeling he was only posting here for the +1.

Woot woot woot! Thanks for the update, Bahaman.

500 reviews deleted... I've already seen it on Clock Day when Simon (I think) made reviews like this: "I voted 5. Woohoo, Clock Day!"

The tool for looking into our reviews was still down, so it took a while to report him. Actually, he reported himself!

Anyway, I flagged all of them, and that gave me a deity whistle. So shiny...

Hmm... according to my last update of the EGB roster, Major-Punk is still B/Ping. I dunno if that's just the account being used by someone else, or if the whole thing is just some stupid joke. Nevertheless, he's been left on the EGB roster for the time being.

A big gap, but if I can't overtake her exp-wise I at least shall overtake LittleWashu on this list! ^^

Maybe you can overtake her EXP-wise someday, just like how I've passed many people that I thought I'd never beat. However, if you do happen to overtake LittleWashu, she'll think it's not such a big deal. ;)

No deposit missed, but review average could be a bit higher..

Don't complain, it was the highest average for reviews. :)

I'll never make it into the top 100 reviewers if I don't speed up a bit. :/

Oh yes, that's true. Even if you've got the highest reviewing average, you still need to enter the flash reviews list.

Thanks! Now on to reaching 30,000 total points on NG log, too. ^^

I suggest Casualty to change that soon. Total points should include audio reviews now. since whenever I make my first pentalist (was thinking of this Sunday, but I won't make one just yet if the site has too many Internal Server Errors), audio reviews will be included.

Congrats to him. He deffinatly deserved it. Wouldn´t be suprised if he got voted on the memberslist if he keeps going like this.

We'll see how he is by August/September then. :)

But why do you only add one person? We lost 4 members on this update, wouldn´t it be better to add at least two new members? I think we should always add one more person if some people get ascended or voted off.

I was thinking of allowing more than one regular to come on the new list, but I already did that on the last two updates when usually, they would have had one new regular coming in. However, next time we get a Memberlist election, I will allow more then one person to become a new regular. :)

I'm surprised that no-one outvoted Major-Punk. Maybe I should have taken him off myself, but I'm just the one who's keeping this list running, not a Wi/Ht? regular. The only ones who should take him off are the regulars or the members voting someone onto the Memberlist.
Yes, well there are several members of which I think that they should be taken off right now. Major-Punk is one of them, but the two who currently got the out-votes also deserved them imo. Personally I don´t think it would be such a bad idea to have two out-votes for the next update.

That's a great idea. Usually, I won't allow this, but I think it's necessary for once considering the amount of inactive users on the list who were more active two years ago. On the list, I can name three users who are very very inactive and two users who are probably not active enough in this forum.

Next election, all regulars will be allowed to outvote up to two users!

Not really. I remember one user getting all 200+ of his reviews deleted for saying the exact same thing. Those 200 flagged and deleted reviews gave me some nice whistle points, even though I was already a Deity whistle user at the time. However, I wasn't flagging them to get more whistle points. I simply flagged them all because they were abusive reviews. Also, there IS a rule saying this:

Do not post TONS and TONS of crappy reviews just to get high in the rankings. If we catch someone doing this we will delete all their reviews - wouldn't that be a pain in the ass? Take your time and write a sincere review for every movie you wish to critique. Make sure your review is relative to the submission. Reviews that are found to offer no benefit to the author may be deleted.

It's possible, but kind of extreme. I did actually think it might be something along those lines when it first got out, but I just dismissed the idea. There are easier ways of cutting oneself off socially, though, especially on the internet.

If anyone ever did this third option... they would either have to keep it up forever so as to not have the entire site mad at them (or most of it, at least).... or they would have to be really, really amoral and just not care.

Hmm... perhaps, alternatively, he was just curious as to the reaction he'd receive should he actually die. It's obviously substantially easier to fake your own death on the internet than it is IRL, so possibly an experiment? Goodness knows.

I find it odd that a friend of his would continue to use his account, though. I mean, hypothetical scenario: someone I knew IRL was a member of an internet website, and I knew the password to his account due to the fact that I'd looked after it for a while as a favour. This person dies, and I decide to let the other members of this site know due to the fact he was a fairly well-known member. I wouldn't ever keep using the account afterwards. Here's a crazy idea... as I've said before, first though, I'm inclined to believe his friend unless proven otherwise, so... that aside:

What if someone so wanted to be done with NG socially... but not exp/b/p wise... that instead of just stopping all posting and reviewing without warning or notice... and instead of stopping it all with an announcement... what if the person used a third option:

This third option you're talking about...I dunno. I don't think Major-Punk would do that to us. Maybe he wanted to lose all contact with NGers, but I'm pretty sure I would have something from him about doing that. Myself, if I ever wanted to do nothing but deposit on NG, I wouldn't make a fake death. Faking my death on NG would only upset people such as yourself and my fans over something that isn't true. Anyone who asks me where I am I'd say to them via PM about my current activity.

I suggest Casualty to change that soon. Total points should include audio reviews now. since whenever I make my first pentalist (was thinking of this Sunday, but I won't make one just yet if the site has too many Internal Server Errors), audio reviews will be included.
Well, tell Casualty in one of his threads, then, where he'll be more likely to see it than here.

Or even better, MS-FUCKING-N!! Seriously, it's much better to tell Casualty anything about NG Log on MSN whenever he's online. I did ask him about audio reviews and he said he'll do it once I make the first pentalist update.

Yeah, there sure have been a lot of errorpages lately. I wonder if it's due to the MySQL update, or... what.

Must be due to the MySQL upgrade. I'm not saying it's made things worse, because it hasn't. I've noticed that whenever I go on NG first thing, it always takes a bit of time to load a page. However, since the upgrade, I've not experienced that wait. All the NG staff need to do is find a solution to these errors.

NEVR got those 6 votes in March and that update didn't get as much votes as the last two for several reasons:

1. That was the first Regulars Update since ages. Most of the users weren't too aware of the comeback.

It's based on weighted votes. 1st vote is worth 3 points, 2nd vote is worth 2 points, 3rd vote is worth 1 point.

liljim's post said they were adding "replication slaves" to the cluster. No, but I was going along the lines that if you have more reviews, than that amount becomes a more 'normal' amount to have in your mind, so if you have 170 (like myself), than 500 seems like a lot. If you have ~1,250 (like Bahamut), then 500 doesn't seem like such a lot.

I wonder what ~X~ would think if he lost 500 reviews at once. 500 reviews must be very small to him. Myself, however, 500 is 40% of 1250. That's quite big. :O

Don't even think about it.

Indeed, I resented being called a noob :(

Well, you have a lot more reviews than me, so meh :P
Indeed. I have so many, but it's only 1/8th way to 10k reviews. I'd like to have over 10k reviews, but considering my pace, I know I'll never get there. Oh well.

I doubt I'll ever get to 10k reviews either... but maybe once I'm quadlisted (talking distant future here), I'll make one final push to get that last 10k stat...

BTW, Bahamut, I added you on AIM (yeah, I got AIM). I dunno if you use it much, but I just thought I'd let you know. ;)
I'm afraid I don't use it too often (as I said to you on it and MSN) since the only reason why I'd be on it is to talk to BlueHippo (when he's not on MSN). MSN is much better for me. :)

That hippo and his crazy ways. He prefers AIM, you prefer MSN. It's a nightmare for people who are friends of you both!

~X~ would probably laugh in the face of such a miniscule (to him) amount of lost reviews. :P

So a lot of people are trying to create "revolutionary" threads here (top 2,000 B/P, for example), dreaming to become popular, have a thread with lots of pages and such.

What do you guys think about it?
