You'd need a high quality mic otherwise the drums will sound like shit.

Well, TBH your best bet isnt to record into FL You're better off getting another recording program made spefically for making samples then just importing the loop into FL.
Hey, i don't actually have a specific problem with FL Studio at the moment, i'd just like to know if there is any basic tutorials on getting started with it out there.
If anyone could link some or give me any starter advice or anything at all that would be brilliant.

With enough creativity, you can pretty much make anything in FL Studio, let alone any other sequencer.
For some good tutorials search YouTube, I find the best way to learn is to watch how someone does it.
Hi. I am new to FL Studio. I've added a sound clip (.wav) to the playlist. How can I change/add effects to the sound, like making it robotic etc...?
Thanks in advance!

hm robotic... You need a vocoder it seems, try looking up vocoder tutorials on google, or ask around... I'd give you a quick tutorial right now, but I'm a tad busy. Sorry
Okay, thanks for the advice, Envy! :)
i cant seem to be able to play the whole song in the playlist in Fl7
nm i found out
i cant seem to find the instruments i need in the side bar because there are none there, what do i do
Thanks for the reply c4v I'm using windows vista on a dell inspiron 1420 with their built in sound card. I don't know what it's doing this it doesn't seem to be able to read mp3's as I said and if I try to convert wav files I'm now getting a problem wherein the converted mp3 to wav is unlistenable in FL, just a vaguely recognizable series of static bursts. If I play the mp3 converted to wav in any other progrem it works great though. I'm stumped, I've reinstalled fruityloops and I still have the problem
Very nooby question coming up...
How do you import VSTs to Fl?

Put the VST in your plugins/Vst folder, Install if needed, open FL, go up to channel, choose add one, choose more, refresh, check the box next to your new vst, open the new VST with the channel/add one, every time you want to use it, make kick ass music.
I have my song with a lot of patterns.
and i want to make it sound like it's muffled away and coming back afterwards..

Like at the end, you want it to fade away? Try automating a free filter, or the cutoff.

So my actual question right now is...
can I direct all my channels to one let's say cut off mixer inser and still have them on their own personal mixer?
Put a filter in your master FX and automate the cutoff on that if you want all the song to be "cutoff'd"
u can honestly cover up the hissing with enough layers... my track trilateral progression uses the toxic III and u cant hear he hissing til the end and its only once so its forgivable. too many ppl hate on fl studio cuz they dont know what theyre doing with it. fucking ppl.
They arent hating on FL studio... The hissing is from the demo of the VST. They are hating on the demo o.O
I'm having trouble with fruity loops. Using the fl slayer guitar generator on the piano roll I can not hear the sound of my notes on them.
Sh%t I can't even install FL it sais the memory can't be "read"!!
I have XXL Producer edition of FL Studio.
I've been trying for the past two or three months to make a decent trance track, or anything for that matter, But haven't been able to get anything going.
My two biggest problems are percussion, and synths.
I guess I could use a few tips on where to get inspiration if that's possible...
Help?
Synths are doable, you can make a decent sounding synth with sytrus, if you know how, try looking up how to make supersaws and stuff with sytrus.
The percussion, you usually have to find new samples, or create your own, or even slice some drum loops if you have to.
I know how to do make basic synths with Sytrus, do you know any good tuts?

I saw you had a tut, checked it out, and it really helped.
Thanks!
Well, I think i got a question of my own.
I am interested in making some music (obviously) and I wanted to try doing it all on the computer. That is, inputing the notes and seeing how they sound, etc. etc. I have used a program called Psycle to make one song way in the past, It was pretty good. But i thought by now they would have new programs that were free that may work better than Psycle.
Maybe this is an easy question to be answered, and yes I have looked at the "read first" thing on the front page thing. I have downloaded something called Buzz and it was closer to something I was looking for.
Now in all of yours opinion, what would match a software like Psycle and Jeskolas buzz? (keeping in mind it needs to be free)
P.S. I'll probably have more 'fruity' questions later. XD
And I just noticed I posted this in the wrong topic.
Very idiotic of me. My bad.
I'll be sure to read next time.
i have a question that may sound kinda noob but needs an answer. how do i download new sound packs? like drums and all that. can someone please post a site i can get these packs and tell me how to get them onto FL
