Weed and tumors? 2012-06-13 21:38:08

Okay, a friend of friend of mine has a brain tumor. Never met this person personally, but I would hate to have my friend's friend pass away.

The tumor is too dangerous to remove and she's been going through a series of tests to little avail. Now, I ask you:

Does pot shrink tumors?

I'm drug-free myself and I really don't know. But I heard some place or another that weed can shrink tumors with occasional usage.

What do you think, Newgrounds? Would a little weed be good for her?

Don't tell me to have her just try it anyway because she won't do it without a cause, 'cuz she's a good girl like that.

So tell me: does a little weed help tumors?

Not through conventional methods. Why aren't you and your friend smoking weed anyway though?

Like I said, we're both kinda the type to stay away from drugs. I'll do anything to help her though.

No, but it will ease the pain, and if going through chemo, it will help the appetite if needed. I'd say just smoke that shit, anyway. It's wonderful.

"Our findings support that safe, therapeutically efficacious doses of THC may be reached in cancer patients,"

What would you call"safe, therapeutic efficacious doses" though?

Are you seriously asking NG if your friend should smoke weed to help her tumor? How about asking a doctor? Or her doctor?

Stop fucking looking right here faggot.

They're doing everything and it's not looking too good.

I'll do anything to improve her condition, even if it's just a bit.

Only one way to find out. Also some guy did apparently make this oil concentrate that helps. I'll start looking for that link.

You're going to need this.
And be in a state where it's legal. Medical grade is much different than what you get on the streets.

and cheaper.

What do you people mean, "ask her doctor?" There's no way in hell a doctor would ever recommend that, even if they knew it would help. I don't even think doctors are allowed to recommend alternative medicines.

The preceding post was probably made when I was wasted. Only a fool would think of it as fact.

it's odd that you mention, sometimes i'll reach a certain point where i'm so high that i start getting paranoid, and brain tumors are on the top of the list. But contrary to my anxieties, more often than not I've heard good things about weed in relation to tumors. i mean it's never NOT helped. i still wouldn't take medical advice from newgrounds though.

I think it's benign but I'm really not sure, to be honest.

Sorry if that sounds cruel, I couldn't think of another way to say it.

I get what you mean, bro, but I'm kinda hoping for an actual cure instead of just a painkiller.

There has been research that concludes THC and CBD inhibit the growth of cancer cells.

I'm sure you could find something here

"EFFECTS CLASSIFICATION
Intoxicant; Stimulant; Psychedelic; Depressant"

"history of medicinal, recreational, and industrial use"

"Intoxicant"
"medicinal"

Thanks, this helped a bit.

No problem, but maybe you should read some of the research and journal articles?

Here's a few.

Antineoplastic means that it hinders the growth of cancer cells.

From what I see it's still a relatively new developement and no conclusion has really been reached yet, but hey it's probably worth a shot.

It can't hurt at this point.

One of the things that's hurting her the most is her own logic.

She's coming to grips with things and starting to not care, which can actually have a strongly negative effect on the whole physical side of things as well.

I don't know. I suppose you'd have more experience with weed than I do, but knowing that (in my other friend's words) she's an "innocent church girl", she might not have the conscience to try it. If I can prove to her that it will have positive effects on her physical condition, she might, but she's not the type to smoke weed for recreation. Yes, I'm sure it will take her mind off of things but she's not going to do it unless it will really help.

Well now, I have been smoking Marijuana for 30 years and I don't have a brain tumor, so I guess it works. But Google has all the answers you need. It's not that hard to Google for the information you're after.
