Okapi, the pride of cryptozoology!

Honestly if you heard about this creature, would you believe it to be real?

One of the strangest looking no doubt. Being that it is Africa, there's probably more weirdos yet to be discovered.

Okapi were discovered for some time but people thought that they're just myths like that giant Vietnamese turtle.

With that said, what animal currently believed to be a myth do you think will be proven as real one day?

Maybe so but they're still one of the biggest ones confirmed to be real. Not to mention it encourages cryptozoologists to continue to find the existence of more creatures as well.

You can say that it can cause people to push their luck a bit just because one major one turns out to be real, who knows?

They can't possibly be 100% extinct and certain species are certainly not a myth, because there is so much jungle and ocean that hasn't even been touched.

I read about Mokele-mbembe years ago, it gave me some hope that there could be some dinosaurs that survived somehow.

As I said, it is Africa so who knows what creatures may have been lurking.

How is an Okapi at all the pride of cryptozoology?

It's just a horse with weird colors

Every other made up monster in cryptozoology is some yeti bird hybrid that eats souls or something similarly stupid.

Sounds more like cryptozoology acting like an Okapi makes their idiotic theories any less stupid.

Particularly after learning about The Bloop.

So far, some of the more plausible ones are confirmed.

Thrilled sharks are as weird as it can get. You gotta loves those guys, makes you wonder if that's where some serpent sea creatures were based from.

I remember those from Zoo Tycoon.
Also, Tasmanian Tigers are pretty crazy. It's a shame they're extinct.

You can say that, some sea creatures believed to be extinct were found alive. Tells you that not every animals were discovered as some parts of the world are still unexplored.

They aren't, they evolved into birds. I think scientists now classify birds as dinosaurs.

Oarfish are very serpentine indeed

17 meters long stretches my belief a little - that is insane.

That's fucking amazing. I've never even heard of them before.

Now as to what kind of animal do i think is real?

A giant sea urchin. Like 5 feet in diameter. With like 5-6 ft barbed, super poisoned spikes. Now that would be epic. "The sea's living cactus, the giant sea urchin.....blah blah blah"

I recently heard that the Quagga was coming out of extinction, with the help of the Quagga Project. I was very excited when I learned of this, and will continue to keep up with it. Now, if we could only bring back those giant kangaroos.....
