I'm going to just turn up in amsterdam on the thursday and book my hotel there and then, that's what i did last time at the damrak hotel near the square, was 20 euros a night.

Well I don't do drugs, and I'm sure there will be some others (probably the non-tourists) that won't be tempted either.. but I have no problem with going to a coffeeshop, but I will look for other lounges and bars where we could hang during the day that are not 18+!

Thanks Luis for the link, but i'm going to have a look when i get out there. There are hundreds of places around there, plus im getting down on a thursday so i'll be able to get a room before people fly in on the friday.

I stayed at http://www.damrakhotels.com last time, it's dearer online than turning up there and booking. The other places i referred to included hostels too.

Barbiegoesbad is my point of contact over there. I should have a mobile phone that ill make available when the time comes. but she has the right idea... i dont think the goal of the meet is to be baked the whole time... obviously if thats in your agenda then i cant stop you.

Weird.. i was out there in december and they still had the mushroom shop open. Didn't go in there but they were selling them im sure.

I know there's people on the street up and down the canals going "coke" and whistling at you, along with ecstacy and viagra. When i went in december, my brother got some coke and it did not do a thing! Left your nose burning like its been mixed with glass or something!

True, but only from late december it has gotten illegal to either buy, sell or even use If i'm correft.
