The youth hostels really aren't that bad. However, they usually have a curvue. But they're as safe as any other hotel.

Actually youth hostels are really pretty safe, however: if you're gonna sleep in the halls you do have the curvue issue and you shouldn't let your valuables lying around BUT you cán get a room (for like 4 people) and if you arrange something with three other NG members you should have no problems.

Check the hostels' sites for their terms though :-)

If there is a plan for the meeting I'd be able to make some other suggestions (just always keep in mind that if you do get a place to sleep you have to be able to get there: taxi, bus whatever, you really wanna find it out) for some good information on public transit:

Curfew and leaving valuables about is a major issue for me :(.

I'm coming with a friend though so the hotel will be fine, work out about 20-25 euros a night each.

I have never been there, but heard good things about it.. also it's right next to Dam square so after that we could have drinks or dinner or head on to the next activity! There is also the Torture Museum, but that might be 16/18+? Not sure.. but I think the dungeon might be fun! :)

Updated the Amsterdam Hub Page with an updated list of people and also a meet point for Day 1.

I'm thinking for the Saturday meet thingie we'll do that dungeon thing in the afternoon, we can just set the outside of that place as the meet point and if people dont feel like doing it then we can just change the plan on the fly.

Also we swapped hotels so heres the one we're stayin at.

I changed hotels because a few people wanted to book a room and found the Park Hotel was too expensive so this one is more reasonable and thats where we are going to be sleepin.

There are some inside jokes from the bbs and flash community etc, but from what i see/done is just mingle and chat crap to everyone.

For the first time at an NG meetup i'm gonna be stoned on one of the nights. Even if its not directly, i'll be getting high off my mates fumes.

London meet was great, even though you would've thought there would have been alot of arse kissing and big ego's everyone was friendly and it was only if you asked them what role they played on the site, they went into detail.

P.S. Glad we are meeting at belushis, this was the cheapest place around and it was pretty lively, but not too lively that you couldn't get a drink. It has wobbly tables in there though, my mate leant on the table and split half the drinks on the way to the toilet! Mind you we had just done 2 shots of jager each on top of about 12 double spirits...

A) i'd have to through trouble just to get to Amsterdam, as far as i know the most fortunate way (money and time wise) to get to Amsterdam is already a pain in the ass.

B) besides that, my parents will probably take an issue up the ass over past trips i made (my last one was to Pinkpop, a sort of festival in the Netherlands, i ended up sleeping over at a friends place for three days whilst i was expected home, they take this ''we don't trust you anymore'' ordeal up the ass.) and they probably won't let me go.
