If someone wants a 'like' on their facebook page to get a free download - is it okay to send to friends, or upload it for download somewhere else? [of course with full credit and original ID3 - not stealing it]
I was just wondering thats all. For example, if someone doesn't have a fb account or doesn't want one - people can unlike when they have the song if they want (though they probably never do) but is it wrong to distribute this track by letting people bypass the 'like' requirement?
It's not forbidden. FB rules state that you can't force a "like" for handouts or competition partitions. So basically the pageowner is breaking original channel rules, and also everything they link inside FB is allowed to be linked further by FB users like you, as stated pretty clearly in FB user terms. If they wanted it to be "invitation only" it would have to be made with off-site downlod page blocked with password or similar.
IMHO it's bit stupid to amass likes in FB with such "treat". Take it from a guy who consults enterprises on social media marketing as a day job.
So yes, you can link it without their permission. But no, you can't upload it somewhere else without permission of the owner, just as you can't upload anything copyrighted.
