This game just feels extremely generic. Nothing about it is really difficult, which is fine, but nothing about it is particularly interesting either. The story is nothing new and kind of,, eh. Mechanically, there is nothing new, but that's not to say a great game can't be made using these recycled mechanics. The world is comprised entirely of 2 textures (they're fine textures but there are only 2) which is fine but the game doesn't feel like it has any atmosphere because everything looks the same. I don't understand why some portions just have a low ceiling. What's the point? I just have to go far more slowly through this part of the game? Is it meant to extend playtime? I also didn't like the blind fall into monsters thing that kept happening. The enemies are, boring and disinteresting visually and mechanically. But what I think hurt this game the most was that when I got to the boss at the end, I literally just mashed x and stood still, because I was given absolutely no reason to do anything else. I don't even know if I had to do anything, because I feel like the NPCs could've won on their own. It just, was nothing. I feel like the boss could've saved this game but it was effectively a cutscene. I understand the game was made with a time limit, but honestly I feel like it could have been made much better just by doing anything interesting or challenging at the end. 2 Stars because I don't think you were allowed to just use a program designed to make platformers and actually had to build the game from scratch, which would explain the lack of content if this is a new developer.
