Reviews for "Bloodborne NES"

A very nice demake, I can see Shovel Knight inspiration going as far as adopting the control scheme :D
As a souls veteran I was a bit annoyed by the enemy placement - it sometimes felt like hard for the hard's sake, not a fun challenge. Also that's a shame you didn't adhere to the actual NES limitation, especially because the difference is in the details (like the sound of footsteps).
Gret work nonetheless!

I must say that is good, but really hard and annoying like the ps4 version.
But i think it could be even better if you extended the game like 5 stage with a final boss and secret areas like a castlevania if you want to... but that's just my opinion.

Love the graphics

So you have some really nice graphics on this one, I love the pixel and sprite work here the "MUSIC" was pretty good too as for improvments I think this doesnt need any it was ok with me, It is Evident that you know what you are doing, and you have shown that here today with this entry, You have presented some good Criteria, and Accuratley at that, You have also shown some good quality and Satisfaction thruogh-out, Now its not perfect or anything so maybe some adjustments later, but overall this was pretty good and I thought it was a decent entry.

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~

~X~

Felt like blood borne up until the dark room, pitch black no hint of shadow, doesn't work as well in a 2d plan with no way to gauge anything, even pitch black in games like darksouls have light areas that give things away if your cautious. Also no way to upgrade and the controls being uncustomizable also had it fall short.

I like that it's faithful to the original and faithful to the NES's limitations at the same time, but with that said, there are a few gameplay issues that annoyed me a bit.

I'm not gonna mention the bugs, since this seems to be one of those projects that's made in a very short time frame. I will, however, mention that, due to the size of the screen with relation to the characters, the time frame between an enemy appearing on screen and hitting you is so short it is kind of hard to react to them at first. This is particularly annoying with fast moving enemies, and in the beginning of the game.

When I got the hang of it, stopped trying to go fast and started treading more carefully, the game ended up being really fun, on top of looking and sounding super cool. Too bad there was so little of it.

The dark room in particular is really interesting. Due to the diminished field of view, we are forced to orient ourselves by sound to know when enemies are approaching. I wish more games would do that, turning our way to interact with the game upside down while still retaining the same mechanics.

I have, unfortunately, never played the original Bloodborne due to not owning a PS4, but I have watched a handful of Let's Plays, and it is definitely awesome. This tribute is also quite awesome, so yeah.
