Reviews for "The Darkness Within Me"

This was really good. But I have to admit that walking around was a little boring but the story was good. I think this may be the deepest story i have seen in any of your games so well done. ^.^

Decent game, simple with a simple design and concept.

I also found a bug. The cross areas are always active until they are used meaning if you go to any of the spots and hit the interact button, the scene for that cross area will play. This also means if you go to the final cross area (the one in the area to the left of the building at the bottom right of the map) you can finish the game immediately.

Fixed! Thanks for pointing that out!

This game was not fun. Searching for the next red item to continue the story was boring. Making the game flat and just walking forward would make it a little better.

The medals work, and I earned them all.

I loved the contrast of the aesthetics between the characters during dialog and the game play. I thought that was fun, and it kept me interested. I did think the dialog itself seemed very cliche angry teenager -- which very well could have been intentional since the main character is an angry teenager. However, I did feel like there was tremendous room for better character development and stronger symbolism through gameplay.

I definitely didn't hate playing through it though.

This was pretty well animated, but it wasn't for me. It's mostly because you couldn't really skip the dialogue. You had to wait until the end. You could still advance, just not when you wanted to. It just became too monotonous. Like the first one, it's pretty easy to follow.

The music is fairly good. It's a bit too loud, though. I appreciate the atmosphere. I guess it is kind of scary like Halloween. Then again, that's over now.
