Reviews for "The Open Bundle"

I sincerely don't think you guys are going to raise $10,000 for this. I didn't even really know what this was advertising. If I pay you money, I get to use your music and art in my own work? Why would I use your stuff when I could simply make my own?

It seems like all I'd be getting out of this is ripped off. You want to raise money? Go to Kickstarter. Offer me something valuable, like I dunno... a playable download of your previous games. I don't see any value in some ABC sprites and source code for a program I don't use or own, coupled with some unoriginal background music.

It seems like your thoughts are in the right place, but I highly doubt this will have the effect you advertise wanting it to have in the flash. I honestly hold a lot of respect for all of you as artists, but It doesn't change that I think there is something... incorrect... with your choice of how you try to reach your goals here. Others have said it better than I can.

Clever scam, nice try.
So, in a world without copyright, i can just rip off your entire game, call it differently and upload it on NG as it was my idea and my creation?

That means i could even get THIS particular animation, and upload it, so the people would be donating to me for content that isnt mine instead of you.

Let's experiment, everyone reading this, if you can, rip off this scam and upload it to NG right now, let's see what they do.
(PS: i'm really disappointed by you , HalcyonicFalconX)

"We want a FREE web without copyright! So we will release all our stuff for free if you pay us 10000 dollars!" I sense hypocrisy. Copyright is a means for artists to maintain themselves at the very least. I don't know what your weird ideal or experience in the matter is, but what you are doing here is selling off your mediocre bundle to the public domain under the pretense of "revolutionising" the web. If anything this is a way for you to get more money out of your poor-earning past "art" by rebranding it as a liberal movement. Also, I didn't know advertising was allowed on NewGrounds.

I was originally going to give this no stars, but then I realized that even a con artist deserves credit, especially when his work is done in a unique manner. Don't get me wrong, I'm not insulting you as creators, I'm merely saddened, no disappointed with how you are trying to raise money for "worthy causes", which you forgot to mention was your own back pockets. I can understand the meaning behind the flash, obviously copyright these days can get out of hand, but there's a reason for it. It's not simply placed to build a wall between developers/artists and the community, it's there so those people can actually earn credit, respect and in the long run money for their creations which I'm sure they put a lot of love and effort into making. Also this is in no way a close comparison or a combination of Kickstarter and The Humble Bundle. The Humble Bundle generates money for charity, as well as for itself and developers. Kickstarter enables inventors with amazing ideas to get them produced and put on the shelf. You are simply selling your merchandise with a false message, and once you've earned a fixed income you're giving it away. These are just my opinions, but reading through the reviews many others seem to think the same. I like everyone in this group, I just don't like what the group stands for.
