Reviews for "Dracula's Treasure!"

I do not agree at all with eliteskillz. Let me explain you, he is a troll, well kind of, he is triyng to express what he thinks about the other review with hate towards your game.
Part of the "defects" he was talking about are classic arcade gameplay. I do agree that the fact that it was made in 48 hours ( even though it's pretty impressive ) shouldn't affect your review. But the fact that some else said so shouldn't afect you review as well, right? So about the game, I thought the gameplay was fun, especialy the fact that you slide a little bit, It's fun! I think that this game, with more development ( power-ups, level selector, high score and that kinda thing) would make this game just wonderful, so the game itself is fantastic, but (wich i think is caused by the fact that it was made in 48 hour ) could use some more things to make is look more like a profissional game.

-Good luck and I hope you make a sequel!-Boredude

01010111 responds:

Thanks! I have several ideas for an expanded version, and I will definitely revisit the controls even though I kind of like the sliding as well :)

I can't believe you made this in 48-hour! Good work dude!

So according to your response to ItsThatOneGuy, apparently nobody is allowed to call this game shit because not only was it made in 48 hours, but because they haven't tried to do it themselves?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

You're fucking hilarious. Just because someone hasn't done something themselves doesn't remove their right to criticize something. Your controls are slippery, your AI is shoddy, and the game resets every time someone dies. These are obvious and glaring flaws, and being in a 48 hour competition does not excuse yourself from this.

Whining about how it was "hard" to do something like this does not instantly make it good. And there are many other entries that I've seen in these contests that boast much better quality than something like this ever will.

Get over yourself.

01010111 responds:

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Sorry, I was responding to his dis of game jams: "Probably the bias this fucking site has for anyone competing in Ludum Dare, despite the fact that 90% of the games that come from that stupid competition are horrible." I'm ok with some people not liking the games I make, because some people do like them.

I've taken the criticism about the controls to heart - I assure you. The AI - is it too shoddy because it's too hard? Too easy? And the game resetting doesn't seem that far-fetched for an arcadey game.

"I've seen in these contests that boast much better quality than something like this ever will." - totally! It's a huge contest with 1300+ games. There are amazing games that were made in 48 hours! That is exactly why I said that the comment dissing LD was uncouth.

Anyway - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I just got over myself.

PS - While I don't expect anyone to participate in a 48h game jam in order to rate my games, I do suggest you try to do it yourself if you're interested in game design!

I'm a medium-low skilled player and I beat this game in under 10 minutes. (And without using the protip I just saw)

Some people should be better to find a Skill Shop open right now.

As for the game itself...
For Ludum Dare it's a pretty impressive accomplishment.

Now for Newgrounds, it's quite a distractive game, a bit difficult, but totally doable, and that's where it's a bit short (I know, 48h, but I'm talking about Newgrounds related stuff here, not LD) and overall it's fun but not groundbreaking. So... "Onze sur vingt, ce qui est bien, mais pas top." - Les Nuls

Tis game makes me whana play PacMan... Well cause its same Game-Content and Physics and System are better. Sorry Your art is nice, your Dracula cute and Music is okay, but Sorry Your Gameplay kills it all.
