Reviews for "Super Morse Code RPG"

Good game but...

Until the store is fixed it's too hard to play past level five.

Grent responds:

Destructin said he made it to the end. I kept dying on the last boss, though :/

Anyways, once the update is approved it should be a lot easier.

Great idea...

Simply is not user friendly is hard to understand when the code is invalid or not and besides morse by itself is hard to ace but you can improve the mechanics if instead of the space button you could use rwo onsreen buttons which are for dot and slash. Well good potential you got here improve it and make it user friendly we're not military after all!!!

Grent responds:

I apologize for this, actually. I had spent so much time with the interpreter that I didn't have any trouble telling what was what, and I feel like I should have seen this coming. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the game anyways!

tedious

because of the fear of having to start all over again when i die, i opted to 'search" the 1st area several times to level up and earn money to buy lots of grenades and painkillers...while it did make me stronger, the repetition bore me and after all my hard work, i wasn't even able to finish the game due to sleepiness. maybe i shouldn't have played this at 1 in the morning after a long and tiring day.

maybe you could add 2 more grenades and painkillers, and also make the experience higher so the character skill matches the level...i don't know..just saying

Grent responds:

I don't really have any advice on the sleepiness, but I know that you get a lot more experience when you're fighting in the city once you're at a high enough level. Needless to say, the first area typically provides the least amount of experience.

Oh God.

First off, the input of Morse Code really just wastes time. I mean, what are you trying to do? Waste our time by making us press the spacebar 8 times just to shoot one guy? And you're forced to keep levelling until you can even get to the 4th spot (the one with the buildings). I levelled up a few times, thinking that was enough and i went to face those nazis. I almost died trying to run away -.- And no checkpoints makes it even worse if you fuck up. I think by putting in the Morse Code you gave the game it's uniqueness, but that also made it really tedious and unfun. I learned maybe two characters from this game: A and 1. The others I had to look up. On the bright side, the animations were cutesy and funny. I also found a certain satisfaction in levelling up and killing nazis >.>

Grent responds:

Our task was to design a game that only used one button. The point of the game was to show that you can still give the user a wide variety of options with only a single button. Yes, it takes a bit longer, but most people who enjoy RPGs are pretty patient, so I didn't think anyone would get too worked up over it.

As for grinding, I usually only have to fight two or three additional battles before I can take the next set of opponents, which I didn't think was too outlandish.

Running is definitely a lot harder than it should be, but I didn't really intend for anyone to be running from a fight. Still, I might balance this better later.

Decent

I generally liked the game, the graphics and plot were very well done, the animation could have been a little smoother, but the music was perfect. Overall a job well done.

Grent responds:

Glad you liked it! Since we had a time limit of 72 hours, we couldn't really polish the graphics as much as we might have normally. The music, however, was taken from the Audio Portal, and was likely made in more than three days. We just went out and found it.
