Reviews for "Riddles of Renaissance"

Nice

Great game, however, the hint on riddle 29 (the man holding soil and water/scientific power), doesnt seem to be working. instead, i got a -1 penalty as if i clicked wrong.
Other than that, keep it up.

mrty responds:

Thanks for mentioning the bug, I didn't realize it. I'll fix it as soon as possible.

A mediocre game tainted by problems

The premise of the game is alright, but overall it's quite lacking. The "riddles" are mostly just questions, "A riddle is a statement or question or phrase having a double or veiled meaning, put forth as a puzzle to be solved" and you failed completely at this. The low quality images make it very hard to discern details in the paintings which is a bit of a silly problem for a game about art to have. Also the preloader sucked, you have noone to blame but yourself for all the reviews saying that the game didn't load. With such a large filesize it's no good if the preloader only appears half way through the process, it was a mistake to release the game before that issue was resolved.

Basically, premise=good, execution=sloppy

mrty responds:

I don't really get what you're talking about. None of the riddles were "questions", and many had some sort of a double meaning too.

I do realize that there were some quality issues that I couldn't fix (but am still working on), but it shouldn't really affect the gameplay much. Don't tell me you can't recognize a dog because there were pixels around it.

As for the loading issue, that happens in pretty much every game. First you see a white screen, then the preloader shows up. Also, "all the reviews" is technically just one review, belonging to a guy who just wasn't patient enough.

Thanks for the detailed review.

SPLENDID!

first off to scorpionreturn5 i shall say, you sir! are an uneducated fool!

ye who shall see the lovely couple hidden in the bushes to the left shall be rewarded with Pennies! By the dozen!

i mostly enjoyed collecting these medal while watching these gems of the Renaissance albeit i missed some rather important ones. you shall include them in a sequel!

furthermore i wish to congratulate this humble author for his weary effort to educate these salvages, despite having to use the lowest form of education! with Fun AND ENTERTAINMENT! Whereby every olde Gentlemen knows that THERE IS NO FUN IN EDUCATION! There is almost a CAUTION in it. HA HA HA HA HA!

but wait! what do my eyes SEE! Alas! i was not logged in. CURSES!

mrty responds:

Thanks for the review. And yes, ScorpionReturn5 needs some sedative. :)

True genious

If you'd please make one of these for every artistic era and you could also add some sculpture. That would really be a hit.

mrty responds:

I'm thinking of sequels, yes.

I originally thought of adding sculptures, too, but it wasn't long until I realized that they weren't really "riddle material". Thought they'd be too easy.

Thanks for the review.
