Well....
There's a very fine line between presenting a challenge and frustration. Just because you can do something in a game, doesn't mean you should. Like, just because you can add fifteen minuets of play time to a wii game by making the player running in circles just to expand, doesn't mean that's the way to go about expanding the play time. In this game, you exapanded the game time with just simply not being fair. You're climbing up a ladder with these awful controls (more on that later), and then you're forced to jump. Whoops, there was a guy you couldn't see with a shot gun, now you have to restart what you just did, whoopee!
Now for the controls. They're bad, especially in this type of game. There is a rule you must follow in all games. The rule is this: If you have bad controls, don't make the game rely to heavily on controls. But you had to have precise timing to make it through some jumps, and even then you could still die. Now the combat, urm, it was pretty good. There's nothing quite as satisfying as jumping on the guy that just shotgunned you in the face and watching his still bleeding body fall on some spikes. But, of course, this gets ruined by the controls a lot.
Before I talk about the good stuff in here, I'd like to congratulate you on that power-up system. I mean, I've never seen extra lives gained that way here. It lands you well needed points for choice. Should I stay in one spot, eating this cake and gaining wonderful lives, or run while I still can, getting a few spare lives. Should I risk killing them first, or just take the shot, no risk, and at least I'll get a few lives out of it. That was nice.
I don't care about the storyline, so now for the good stuff. It had really nice art, nice graphics, and nice length. Not much I can say about this. I'd give it a 6.5, but it's pretty enjoyable after the initial frustration. It may say a 6, but keep in mind it's a 6,5, if that makes you feel better, and somehow you read this review.
