Reviews for "Captain Zorro. Last Hope"

pretty good

couldn't be bothered to finish it cause it got pretty boring

Nice Doom Clone

That was one of the best doom clones i've played ever. Good graphics, nice weapons and good general game-play. Is there much of a difference in damage amount between the weapons, all i noticed between pistol, rifle and cannon was the firing speed wen you held space, although i could click faster with pistol (which i used mainly until i got the cannon)

yawn city

While the game itself is solid, it is intensely boring. The music is mind numbing and painful after about 2 minutes, the enemies are unexciting and simplistic. Did you use rectangles to create everything in this game?? The sound quality was very poor which is very evident in the fact that enemy weapons do not make noise and your footsteps sound like wet farts.

You can obtain all 3 (oh boy) weapons within the first like 4 levels and after that there is no point. I finished the game just to see if there would be anything different but no. Same patterns plastered on walls like the blood splatters and the same 3 different enemy types. The difference in the enemies is a slightly increased firing rate and projectile size. Your weapons vary from a pistol, a machine gun which is essentially an automatic pistol seeing as how it deals equal damage, a slightly stronger/faster machine gun, and an even more slightly stronger/faster machine gun. That's it.

The very last level has you open the door and shoot a screen with a face on it. No boss battle. No big robot. Shoot the screen then instantly see a "victory" page.

I normally don't post such long reviews but after trudging through this game there is much I need to say.

well done!

this game is excellent! It's been a while since i've played a Doom style game, what with the new technology in FPS and all, it was a real reminder to the good old days of the first person shooter. And what's more is that this game may be the first flash version i've ever seen! Well done for giving us this piece of history in such an accessible format.
Things i liked were;
-the dodging bullets and specially placed walls for cover [who wouldn't like that?]
-the "auto fire" if you held down the space button, however it should fire faster in my opinion
-the wide arms on the robots for shooting around corners, and i know some people dont like it but just remember that the robots are static once you 'aggro' them, so they need all the help they can get to shoot at you.
Things i didn't like were;
-the reload, if you reload you lose your current bullets, not to mention if you reload on a full clip you lose all those bullets too.
-the spawn points that are being camped by a bunch of them, that seemed a little unfair, especially when facing three 'round-heads' who do a big chunk of your HP when your hit.
-when you start a new level, you still have the same amount of bullets in your clip, even though you stocked up on ammo in the shop.

Just some pointers for you to acknowledge if you make another one of these style games... But all in all, nice detail on the environment, fairly good movement on the character and bots, and a nicely put together bunch of maps! I hope to see more, these are damned good games.

impresiveish

well, seeing as wolfenstein 3D was, well, exactly like this, but with more level and weapon variety, and more game play such as treasure collectables and a super insane difficulty,
i have to say that this is kinda not very original.

however,
since i've never seen this in a flash game before!
i'm actually really impressed that its only 3 mb,
leaving TONS of room for additions,

so, all in all,
kudos to you sir, for a fun little game. =]
i hope you make more like it.

although, i was annoyed by (and, even in wolfenstein as well) the slow pace of the character kinda annoys me. of course, if i'm sped up, then so should the turn rate, and that might be a lot of work to coordinate? idk, its up to you. good game tho.
