Reviews for "Captain Zorro. Last Hope"

It has potential.

I must admit before playing this I looked at the reviews already posted and they did not bode well for this game. Despite that fact however, I still tried it and I am torn. On the one hand, the look of the game is very much like Doom, and because of that I found the game entertaining. On the other hand however, the game play needs some fine tuning. The enemies were fair at best (and this is on the hardest difficulty) and the control scheme needs work. Having the AWSD keys as movement and the arrow keys as your camera controls seems too awkward. I do applaud the attempt at making a retro-Doom style game but a little more work is needed in order to make this game more dynamic. Kudos nonetheless.

Wasted potential.

You seriously need to allow players to use the mouse for rotation, this has been the norm for first person shooters for like 15 years.

A very well made half-baked idea.

The controls were fine and I liked the near-death effect, but the game was far from enjoyable. The entire thing consisted of holding space and strafing one step left, then one step right once a second. There was no diversity in enemies, the guns were all pinpoint accurate but wouldn't accomodate for height. If you ran up on a bot with a shotgun, yuo couldn't shoot him because you were aiming too high and couldn't lower it. On the same note, the shotgun fired like everything else. Its all full-auto and hits one precise point and does its damage. The only way this game became challenging was when I played on hard, only used the pistol, and dropped the quality to low so that I couldn't actually count between the enemy shots. I suppose once it sped up that much it was a lil harder, but that should not be the only challenge or draw. After that, work on the level designs. They're small, simplistic, and unimaginitive. Try building actual levels instead of just a room with a few stationary or line-sentry drones. There's a LOT of room for improvement on this. You have the engine set, now fix the rest of it.

:D:D:D:D

havent even played the game but i love red hot chili peppers so i give it a 10 (:

Fair

The main problem was the directional controls for shooting, why not have the mouse do it, the controls were cumbersome and slow to respond and too many keys were needed to fight and shoot. The enemies were fair but lacked in diversity and predictability. Mot bad if this was your fist attempt at a game but it fell far short of what it could have been. You have shown so talent and would encourage you to keep trying, always remember, keep the controls to a minimum and the enemies to a maximum.
