This movie,
Is definitely better than some of the other front pagers right now. That I'll give you.
One thing I didn't like was the voice acting. It seemed kind of childish. It made me feel like I was watching a children's television show which kept me from getting into it and made me want to close it, however I stuck through it. The dialogue, although it helped with the childish feeling, I sort of admired the drama of it. I give you props on that.
The animation was definitely worth noting. It reminded me of Charlie Brown, which is a nostalgia trip for me. That's probably most of the reason why I did like it; it reminded me so much of old style cartoons I grew up with. The kid's voice reminded me of the old Pokemon shows. Haha.
The story... mmm... I see what you were going for, subtlety, right? But it was kind of bland and left me to think, what was the point? I mean, there was a lot of potential this movie had and could still be subtle about it. It could have more of distinguished feel about it. More originality, like other members have mentioned, because it does feel a little cliched.
Nonetheless, it is a worthy addition to Newgrounds. In response to simbrian's note of him not being nice to his dad, I think you did capture a kid's playful attitude that's always in a rush. He just got his new toy and he wants to play with it! Haha.
7/10 based solely on animation.

Nice story, voice acting and all
The reason I voted 6 on this is that I think the voice acting of the boy, and his lines to be over the top when it comes to sentimentality.
Maybe the sentimentality needed to be introduced more (or how you say it), anyway it felt phoney to me.
Nice animations though and I give you a 10 for effort, there are enugh comical or violent animations here :)
reluctant review
the animation was fluid and amazing but the voice acting for the little boy was annoyingly overbearing..... ill just put it this way is was so annoying that I could not enjoy the flash.. i mean you could at least find a younger person or someone who sounds like a kid to play the part. Other than that everything was solid.
