Reviews for "Shrubbery."

Finally, a challenging game ;D

Love these difficult games. Controls were smooth, and the intense bulletdodging skills for the bosses makes this game fucking awesome. There should have been less "random" activation powerups, and the weird "normal" stages were just a bit too repetitive. I like the idea, and I hope a sequel or something could be made.

Perhaps a more customizable player would be nice? Aside from stats and skills.

Well, you can tell I'm not a vagina

Because I'm not whining about how hard it was. It was difficult, but the relaxing music made me feel better. I enjoyed playing, the boss battles were fun. I think level four and level five are mixed up, because four is more difficult than five in my opinion. Well executed, very satisfying ending.

Interesting Concept, but Way Too Hard and Flawed!

This game has an interesting concept, but suffers from punishing difficulty and a few other flaws.

The main game play consists of flying through levels of hostile brick creatures and trying to plant trees in the level. Although it is immersive to feel like you are improving the landscape or something of that matter, the lush green levels don't really feel like they need any more trees.

Any fun of weaving through flying enemies as they attack you is stopped by the seed mechanic. The seeds have to fall unobstructed to the ground, so the game forces you to hug as tightly to the bottom of the screen as you can. This is not fun at all. In fact, the game would be better if destroying enemies turned them into seeds instead.

The power ups are interesting, but ineffective. They really don't seem to do anything. One power up the gives you a "seed bomb", which is useless because it is so random, and because you are always trying to fly underneath enemies in the first place.

There is no story or meaning to everything. I don't know why I'm planting seeds, who these brick enemies are, and why I have to fight them in some black netherworld to gain attribute points.

Lastly, the game is way too hard. Just touching anything can bring your health way down, and it stays the same through all the levels. The health recovery power up only regenerates mere slivers if you do perfectly on a level, so you will die if you are not perfect. Since there are no checkpoints or saves you can lose quite a long time of playing to a level or boss you are unfamiliar with.

Also, the preloader is very annoying. No preloaders should make noise unless you are interacting with them, because it will annoy people who are trying to do something in another window.

By the way, I really liked all the relaxing music tracks. Does anyone know who the artist is behind them, and where I can find a place to buy or listen to the game's music online?

suck it trebeck

impossible to beat

over all... boreing

nice colours, ideas and stages, allthough i thought it was slightly boreing and lacked fun factors
