I sure hate preloaders that start themselves
...especially if that means the movie just loops endlessly.
But I'm not reviewing a preloader, so I'll get to the point. It was nice and stylized, like the description says... but without an actual concrete story, the viewer has to rely solely on visuals, and when the visuals are just a choppy pen and paper animation, the viewer suffers. Especially if it's not shaded or colored or anything, you know? You're not going to get anywhere on style alone. The whole 'interpret your own meaning' attitude only goes so far... like another reviewer said, it's a good idea, and you use your style well... but you need to add more elements to it to make something great out of it. Even if all you did was add more drawings to make it fluid, color the original drawings, or just add some shading, it would help the flash stand out better.
Also, next time, please, don't use the auto-starting preloader. I like being able to decide when I want it to start, not it starting when it feels like it. Just a thought, though, I didn't let something like that effect my opinion on the rest of it. Good luck with future endeavors.
