you should see the sin city comics

percepcion do you know what made sin city great? even when it was on black & white and the graphics sometimes where very simple.

what made the sin city graphics so cool is the composition and the use of the contrast. for example some elements have a black and a white part but you only see the white part in the black part of the background, so even when the contrast it is absolute (Black & White and no greys) the elements in the graphic have volume and depth perception.
you will understand what im saying if you see the sin city comics with attention, good luck.

LogFish responds:

I'm aware of that - I didn't say it was 'the style' - I was just inspired by, as I love all that. Later I will probably try and work some of that awesome contrasting in, but I haven't yet - I just used what Swift3D exported for me really! And even then, copying someone elses work is balls so I might not :)

Well... Better try next time

The voices were pretty bad but i give major props to the style of the flash.

Thanks!

Nice, but...meh

First of all, good job on the 3-D effects. I really enjoyed the twisting camera views. But, I REALLY didn't enjoy the storyline. It seems you're trying to portray this guy as a mysterious desperado. And that, my friend, has been done WAY too much. I've seen this type of thing over and over, and I get tired of it after awhile.

I don't really care if the guy is mysterious or not, I've seen that same cigarette smoked a thousand times.

So, all in all, good graphics, improve the story a bit, and you'll be number one in no time

LogFish responds:

Cheers! I hear you on that, and I don't like to not be original - I'm well aware this doesn't have originality so I'm not that proud of it - hopefully later episodes will be much better! I've got some ideas for branching off and they're a bit more original.

You've gotten onto a good idea...

... I just think it could have been developed a little better.
The style is good - though I didn't like the use of colour (marijuana plants, red triad girl) and the grey didn't look too great when it was used either.
I did enjoy watching it - but I just reckon a bit more time in the development stage would have really paid off (especially when recording the dialogue).
Also, the actual art style itself (as in your character models) look kinda sloppy - If you plan to continue this series I think you will want to make the physical anatomy more realistic (i.e. noses where they aught to be and properly shaped heads.

I've been focussing on the negative, but I really did enjoy this - and I'd like to see some more.

LogFish responds:

Thanks - those're all very valid points! I'm suprised how well this did, I was just having fun - but now I see so much potential forsuccess with it I'll focus on doing a better job of future episodes! With models, yea I want to have more expression so I'll need to rebuild them anyway :)

Cheers - handy review!

Not bad, does need work though.

Me personally it was interesting work but ure 3d does need work. I take it u have been using 3d Studio Max and cell shading all the textures, if im wrong i appologise but thats what i think you have done, that part works fine but its the way the actuall edit feels. if u can render your sequences out in long sections then edit them externally because if u make the peice without an editor afterwards the pacing feels too slow.

Other than that man good effort but please use a better microphone the distortion was killing my ears man, u need to muffle or delect your inflections in your speach from the mic.
There are a couple of things u can do, a ladies tight and coat hanger are the most effective if u dont have any money. Anyway i hope in some small way this helps but as i have said good effort but check ure edit and sound they need work!

All the best, Aspoon

LogFish responds:

Thanks for the tips! I used Swift3D for all the models, building, animating and exporting.
