Reviews for "Windows XP Start Hack"

Your system may be at risk.

lol, I put this in faves. I'll give it a try on my windows comp this weekend. But one question- Where do you get Resource hacker?

jpoke89 responds:

Check the URL on the User commentary on the front page of this submission, and its there. You need to choose the European download, since thats the only English one. Thanks for the review!

although it is a good hack....

This hack doesnt seem to work for service pack 2, at least that's what i think. What can i do about it?

jpoke89 responds:

I was using SP2, so I'm not sure. try turning off virus/spy/adware protection programs, and try again. Thanks for the review!

Very cool!

Except, I followed the steps EXACTLY as they were presented, and my Start button does not change text. It remains as "start". I'm running Windows XP on a Dell Dimension E510 and I downloaded both Process Explorer and Resource Hacker. Why is it that explorer.exe isn't being modified?

Otherwise, nice tutorial!

jpoke89 responds:

I'm not sure, it may be your virus protection or something. try disabling any virus and anti spyware/ adware utilities, and try again. thanks for the review!

wtf!?

erm, how did you find this out exactly?

just wondering just how many computers you completely distroyed

jpoke89 responds:

I didn't ruin any computers, I just used WIndows's System Restore if i fucked something up, or some other utilities I have. I have many programs to repair computers, I do it for friends all the time! Thanks for the Review!

nice hack and all

But Ijesuschrist is right... You do one thing wrong and your experience on windows is screwed and then its off to crashing windows you go.. No thx... I still gave you a passing score though cause its cool...

jpoke89 responds:

Lol, thanks, thats your prerogative, and I can see why you wouldn't want to do it, because you can screw up explorer if you don't know what your doing. I totally understand! Thanks for the review!
