I really liked the funky hair on the town-folk.¬
It's a really nice flash and I'd definitely like to see #2. Anyway, here's my comments in chronological order (as they occur in the movie) and hopefully some will help.
- Not too fond of the title screen. all those scribbly lines didn't do it for me.
- I notice the opening shots of trees/train tracks - all the bgs untiol we see the fisherman are vector-based. Then after seeing him, it all goes the way of guasian blurred bitmaps. I like both, but there's some inconsistency here...
- I really like your bubbles and water.
- I really like the whole silhouette scene with the creature and fisherman.
- I don't like the side-on shot of the creature walking - his arms remain on the same side of his body when they should swing in the other side as well.
- When you had 2 creatures on screen at once, it confused for a few seconds. Maybe have a fade in/fade out rather than have one walk on-screen to join the other.
- I didn't like the rise on the creature - it sort of looked as if it was falling there.
- I liked the turn of the spaceship.
- I really like your city folk. Really individualistic style, specially with the hair.
- The creature seemed to be advancing too fast for his feet when he walked forward. But then, walking towards/away from the camera is probably one of the hardest things to do, so I'll forgive you. ;-p
- I really liked the colour shift in the bg.
The story seems a bit generic, but the art's pretty appealing, specially the city-folk's style and the silhouette shot.
Also, the lack of speech and odd music promoted the feeling of us too being unable to understand the locals - in keeping with the subject matter I thought.
