The new version features Medals and some optimizations for running in 30FPS. The Gameplay should be more fluid now.
It may take a day or two for the new version to be admin accepted!!

Scribbland is an innovative platformer game, where you use only one button to control the player (namely Left Mouse Button). To make the player move you just have to click and hold it, while if you want him to jump release said button. To move in mid-air, quickly release the button and then hold it again.
Your objective is to reach the exit while avoiding hazards and running into walls. You can play the game either in Easy Mode (You don't get killed when you run into wall, there are less enemies but the score is lower) or Hard Mode (Running into wall kills you, there are more enemies but the score is higher). Compete for the best score and get first on the Hiscore Board!

So, I realize some people (or majority) might not like the game thanks to the control scheme. Before you start throwing some wild accusations on me, please realize that the controls were the main quirk of the game and that was my intention from the beginning and it dates back to a couple of years ago to my older project (Happy Runner if anyone is concerned). Most people are just too used to old schemes I guess, whilst I, at least in gaming, am open to all kinds of innovation and I am sure some people will love Scribbland for this (I love the idea of one-button platformer personally).

Well, Thank You very much Newgrounds staff for putting this game on Front Page. I am really honored!

Personally, I didn't find the control scheme to be as aggrivating as other reviewers, and after a few minutes was controlling the character with relative ease. However, there were some quirks that made the game slightly frustrating.

Everytime you wanted to move, you had to jump at some point. This was frustrating and caused me to die.
It was hard to move just a little bit with the control scheme, and would push me into spiky balls.
The other problem wasn't with the controls, but with the game itself. You made it so when you jumped into the wall, you got pushed backwards. This was annoying and just poor programming.

I appreciate the originality in this game and I thought it was overall a fairly good game. This game needs some work, but I think most people should enjoy it.

Skellus responds:

"This was annoying and just poor programming." Annoying, yes. Poor programming no. Honestly, if I can make a game like this or any other of my productions, making it so that the player actually STOPS would have been a piece of cake, had I wanted it. Anyway thanks for comment :)

It'd be nice if you could change which button you use-like, switch it to a keyboard button like the spacebar.

Pretty nice

I was a bit confused at first until I realized you meant the mouse and not the arrow key. Anyway, I was impressed at how original of an idea this was. Yes, it cetainly got hard at times, especially with the bad guys but I have to give you credit for being innovative. The graphics were very nice and I liked the black and white effects as well as the sound. It's interesting how you have taken a pretty basic premise and made it into something truly unique. While not a classic, this was interesting enough to recommend.

its okay

its a good game but controls are kinda gay... at least make it so we can go backwards! but overall is good

People find this review helpful!

at least I get it..

Obviously the main point of the game is the difficult controls. I think people who haven't tried ASWD or Arrow-controls experience the same kind of difficulty at first. I think the level amount was ok too for such simple game. Almost gave up on the last level.
