aliens game awesome
awesome game i play these alot so 5 out of 5 awesome job :D LETS ROCK EAT THESE awesome
Though a warning about the wall exploding on the last mission after 29 turns would have been nice.
Awesome boardgame reconstruction
I stumbled upon this site looking for the expansion pack for the original boardgame( after finding my original game in a box under the house). Just an awesome, close reproduction with easy to use interface. For the sake of old boardgame nerds like me an upgrade with all of the optional rules from the original (like the Frost and Deitrich rules, hand grenades, stairwell rule etc) and expansion pack would be nerdtastic. I agree with other comments that saves and a more comprehensive campaign score system would polish an incredibly solid bordgame. For the tweens who find it too hard, have a glass of cement, harden up and welcome to 80's gaming. To Homedrone, you're the man!
One of the few flash fighting strategy games which really makes sense. I don't know how much do the missions follow the original boardgame (it must be very time-consuming to play it on the board), anyway the atmosphere is unique. I was really feeling like being there when playing it.
It's so hard! But being hard, it makes one think more about the strategy. At first few attempts I was thinking it's unbeatable. But after learning some tricks, I made it! (Well, haven't tried the final mission yet.)
I'd like to see and play some more missions, perhaps inspired by some other Alien sequels...? And what about the battle marines vs. marines? :) Wouldn't be so difficult to make I suppose, once you have made the game engine...
It's a fun flash game, but...
The Reactor is fun, and I still haven't tried Rescue Newt but I just gotta say that Operations is a BULLSHIT level!
All the marines have to be placed PERFECTLY so as not to hit them with with their own grenade launchers!
You cannot even set foot into the (otherwise open) empty hallway south of of the deployment area. Not until Mr. Burk/the programming allow you to!
That whole level is too small: it takes the aliens TWO TURNS to win against you after deployment. If your marines miss too many times = they're fucked.
I understand you wanted to make a claustrophobic, hard mission. But I can't help but think this could have been tweaked a bit more in the Player's favor.
