Assuming that you've bought a copy of the game and have patched the dumped ROM from that, you can load it onto a CycloDS card and flash it to the NOR memory of an EZFlash 3-in-1 cart via the DS, which will let you you play the game on a GBA. It's a bit of a hassle and will cost you $50 or so in total, but it is possible if you must play it on actual hardware.

I'm playing it on my DS lite this way.

An alternate way is uploading it onto a GameBoy Advanced cart itself, which tends to be cheaper, and lets you play it on an actual GameBoy Advanced.
Both have their ups and downs, though.

Took me 17 hours to beat the game. Long but fun... This was my second play. 1st was in jap.

Im quite sad that this is the last game in the mother series tho..

I am sad as well. I am going to crawl this game and play it so slowly as to absorb every last drop of its Mother-ness. I am at the second save point and I have already spent twenty minutes. It is definitely a different experience but it still has that charm and quirkiness that makes it undeniably Earthbound.

I will report back as I continue my quest.

You play as him though chapter 1, you have him in your party again later in the game, but i'm sure that he's not the main guy again.
