I was lookin at this picture.. and im thinking that for this years shirts i'll probably use the same design switch up the names in the back and have it printed on a different color shirt with a different base color (not orange). I was considering doing a whole new design but part of me thinks that its better to just keep with consistency and make it a series. Thoughts?
I'd obviously replace the names in the background of it so that they reflect all those that turned theirs in this year.

Hmmm....may we contribute ideas for a design? I think I got an idea for a sketchbook tour t-shirt logo. Hell, we can make it a group effort.

I'm all for new design too. It's hard to maintain consistency. Every year the sketchbook is different. Different materials, different artists. Why wouldn't the logo change too.

How about the NG logo looking like the one on your userpage Luis minus the Newgrounds part. A sketchy design of the word, "Sketchbook Tour '08" with all the names on the back of the logo.

So there's work to do on this yet, but no point in going further with it until I get some feedback. Anyway. Luis here's my idea for a T-Shirt. 2-color so far. might go for three. Using the third color to fill in the hollow areas of the tank and the block letters.

I figure as long as I am getting a free T-shirt, the logo on it is secondary.

Id stay away from using the year anywhere on the logo. Its nice to mention that its a 2008 sketchbook tour but its not feesible to be printing new shirts every year. Its just not economical enough.

If everyone bought a shirt, perhaps. But otherwise its too narrow in scope. This year I want to make a shirt that can carry on timelessly and i can just reprint every year ... its more cost effective, it allows people who participated and those who didnt but enjoyed viewing the project to feel like they are part of it... it just makes sense from all sorts of reasons. I've also been interested in trying something thats a bit off the beaten path in terms of making the logo be very sketchy... yes i know its a 'sketchbook' tour but maybe concentrate on other aspects of the project that are more subtle.. like the fact that its got all sorts of artists/styles or that it merges people from all over the world.. etc etc.

That makes sense, I was starting to wonder if you had that Tom Fulp money there for a minute. Printing out different designs a year will cost ALOT especially when you're not seeing any of the money you spent on it coming back to you.
The sketchy logo idea is kind of expected and corny. I'm really interested to see what you'll come up with..

If so, a good idea would be to make a space for each artist to write their name and draw a lil something. Like one of those "Hi my name is.." tags. Just a thought.

Even if tom was financing it, it just doesnt make sense to make time sensitive shirts. I'd rather have the design of the online version change and then have the shirts be consistent year after year. minor changes maybe but overall consistent.
