It's been a pursuit of mine to make video reviews of games.
So I practice by writing scripts.

Though the criticism I get is pretty harsh.

So I want to know, what are some good tips for writing reviews? I try to be informative and funny as well as the type who's friendly and not "RAWR ANGRY"

Advice to make it better, and sound like you played the game.

To help avoid getting smacked by angry gamers.

Nothing here anymore.

People always have bad feedback for reviews. Because they either agree or disagree. Just try to avoid your preference when writing reviews. Like if you hate Shooting games, And play COD4 and its awesome for everyone else, Don't give it a horrible review.

Review something and let us read it.

Read more reviews.

Great readers become great writers.

Don't try to copy a style though, just learn how reviewers work.

Avoid giving numbers, avoid blatant fanboyism, try to avoid nitpicking on certain problems (unless they affect gameplay, or are too noticable.)

Some basics.

Usually what I do in my flash reviews is I find elements I like, talk about them then I find things I don't like and tell them why I didn't like it, then in a conclusion (last Paragraph) I give a brief summery of the ups and downs.

You should practice by writing more flash reviews here.

Yeah, and don't just do a pros/cons thing and then slap a score on it.
That's the most fucking retarded way you can review a game.

Make sure your opinion is sincere and not fake.

I'd rather die a Wolf fighting against the Herder, than die a Sheep heading for the slaughter.

Are you doing written reviews, or videos? If you're doing videos, then I can give you a lot of advice. I took a class about making videos, so I have quite a bit of experience.
