Hey there everyone, this is a place to discuss tattoos you have, or ones you would like to get.

Same rules as always apply:

-All BBS Rules are in effect.
- Don't flame or spam.
-Treat all members nicely.

The main point of discussion here will be able anything and everything relating to tattoos, from traditional ones, to ones out of the ordinary.

Feel free to ask questions as well!

I have 2 (or 4 depending on how you look at it) tattoos myself. Below is a picture of my newest one(s).

Feel free to ask questions as well!

Did it hurt?
Do you regret it?
Why'd you get it?
How much did it cost?
How much does it hurt?
How much does laser removal cost?

You'd like something called scarification. I remember poxpower or a mod posted a thread about it somewhere.

I want something like this.

Nope, not at all really, I could feel some pressure when it was on the bones but besides that it wasn't bad.

Do you regret it?

Not at all.

Why'd you get it?

It means something very special to me.

How much did it cost?

85 bucks for that one in particular.

How much does it hurt?

It depends on where you get it.

How much does laser removal cost?

No clue, haha.

I remember seeing many videos on it but its hard to find a place around here that will actually do it.

I want something like this.

Looks good. ^.^

I remember there being a 'Ink Lovers Crew' or something of that matter some time back.. however the title was rather poor, and I can't even find it on google.. so, I guess this is the new tattoo crew ;P

Me, personally.. I'm not much into tattoos.. I dunno.. although the idea of a tattoo as SBC as a bad ass does sound a little near ;D

Same concept. Well, I love my body very much yet for me personally, I don't want to put anything on it such as henna tattoos or something.

Henna tattoos are shit, they're not even permanent. It's just a tattoo for someone who doesn't have the balls to get a real one.

I have one tattoo on my right shoulder, which is the roman numerals for the number 11 (XI), which is my lucky number. I do like it, I don't regret it, and I'm thinking of getting another one.

So yeah, I'll join this club.

My advice to you is to get something that means something to you, because even if it isn't as relevant or important to you in the future, it'll always represent a part of your life, so you'll never regret it.

Just make sure you don't get something just because it 'looks cool'. I see people with those tribal tattoos, and fair enough, some of them do look pretty cool, but what do they mean? What significance to they bear other than looking cool? It's that kind of thing that you'll end up regretting.

Nice, I'm going to get many more tattoos and I was even thinking of getting my next one Newgrounds related. I am having a sleeve done showing a progression of my life and since NG was a part of it, it has potential to be a next tattoo of mine. :D

It can be but in some cultures I know they do full body henna tattoos in some ritual. I don't know exactly where it is they do it but I believe its in India.

That sounds reasonable but remember to get something that has meaning to you tattooed on your body, otherwise you could regret it.

Exactly, even if its just for memories of something that happened, its alway better to get something that will have some significance rather than something that will be meaningless to you.

Just make sure you don't get something just because it 'looks cool'. I see people with those tribal tattoos, and fair enough, some of them do look pretty cool, but what do they mean? What significance to they bear other than looking cool? It's that kind of thing that you'll end up regretting.

Yea, I don't understand the "common" tattoos that some people get, I bet the most of them don't even have any relation to the tattoo at all besides it looking good or sounding like a good idea at the time. :/

Good deal bro. ^.^

I was bored the other day though so I thought I would try my hand at drawing a tattoo, in old skool style
so what you think guys?? (this isnt like an art post thing because its relevant (: )

It doesn't look bad and I get what you're going for, but I would suggest that you have all you tattoos drawn up by a pro since they can really define thing. You could bring something like that to a shop and have them draw it up, and they could make it look better, it may cost a bit of money but spare nothing when getting something thats going to be on your body for the rest of your life, it has to look good! :D

Cool, I'm not sure how many more I'm going to get, but it'll probably be at least 1 or 2 more. The problem with tattoos is that after you've gone under the needle the first time, you want to get more and more. I've made a conscious effort to wait a while before getting my next one, just so I know I'm not getting it just for the sake of getting it.

It can be but in some cultures I know they do full body henna tattoos in some ritual. I don't know exactly where it is they do it but I believe its in India.

Interesting. If it's a cultural thing you can't really argue with it, but if somebody gets a henna tattoo because they wanted a non-permanent tattoo, that's just lame. It's all or nothing for me.

Yeah, I like my tattoo. It's in quite a cool font, not just a straight 'XI'. I'll try and get some pictures of it up here at some point.

Yeah, it's OK, but it's really just a picture. Like DLJ said, get a pro to sketch it up for you, and maybe make it a bit more stylized, else you'll just have a picture of an anchor on your body.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. Right after my first one I wanted to get many more right away but I waited before getting my last one and I'm happy I did. It took a good amount of thinking to even decide if I wanted to get more tattoos and then I had to think of each one and well, I decided on one that has a lot of meaning to me and while most will never know what it means, that doesn't matter because I will always know. :)

Yea, I know what you mean really. A cultural thing is pretty common in tattoos and piercings alike really, I know some tribes would get tattoos and piercings to show their status and rank.

Awesome, I will take another tattoo of my first one and post it here. It is a cross on my right forearm, and though I am not religious at all, I got it because of what it symbolizes to me.

Religion begins forth a common knowledge, a common faith and a very diverse background, I got it since to me it means that no matter what, people can get along and be in the same place as one another under a common belief, and I think everyone has a common belief somewhere along the lines as others, which would make it so we all could get along, at least in some form. :)

Sounds good, you're in! :)

I think that's the best idea, really. It's strange though how after getting a tattoo you get this urge to get another. Must be something in the ink :P

I drew up a tattoo for a friend of mine, and I need to scan it onto the computer and put it into Photoshop, just to make sure it's perfect.

Perhaps if any members who join this club have artistic talent, they can help out with making preliminary designs for tattoos at other users' requests (if they have the time). I say 'preliminary' because I'd always advise having a professional doing the final design, but that doesn't mean that we can't help in the ideas department.

Haha, maybe so. It was the same way when I started getting my piercings done, I started with my ears and that ended with me having lots of different places done. I ended up taking some of the out, leaving me with only five as of currently. The main difference with piercings and tattoos though, piercings come off easier, much easier, so if someone gets one done they could always take it out and while it does have the chance of leaving a mark behind, it won't leave a mark anywhere close to having a tattoo removed would leave.

You're member number one technically. :D
Heh, surely you're member #1, and I'm member #2.

Well, I usually don't count the leader as a member since they are the creator of the thread and don't usually fall under the same guidelines as a regular member but I can see what you're saying. ^.^

Oh and by guidelines I mean most of the time a leader can say whatever and get away with it whereas it is a bit harder for a member to do the same. :P

That sounds great, I do designs for others as well but I am better at doing words than pictures and symbols. Just a talent I have that hasn't branched over into every artistic side I suppose.

Of course, and that sounds like it would be an awesome idea. I can do tattoos involving words, or letters. As said before I can't do pictures though so please everyone, don't ask for one since I can't make it anywhere near good for a tattoo design. ^.^

I've always wanted to get one done that represents my nationality. It means a lot to be to be a Pole, and I really want something on my body to never forget what it means to be one.

I've always come to appriciate what we did for the world and how underappriciated we are, but I won't into a rant about that.

I want to get something like this either on my left shoulder, shoulder blade, or on the bottom of my wrist. (But just the eagle, maybe B&W)

That's pretty cool. Personally, I'd always go for black & white tattoos over colour ones. I just think the colour looks tacky and generally bad.

Cool, getting a sleeve as your first tattoo is pretty daring though. I personally would start off with something slightly smaller, and then progress to something larger if you want it done afterwards.

That's just me, though.

I heard the wrists are pretty painful too, and the lower back. Basically all the parts of the body that don't have a nice layer of muscle or fat.

Sorry, but I think a tattoo can ruin the body. To me, it doesn't really look nice, or painless when you first get it. Some tattoos might be cool, but I'm not really into the whole "Tattoo on the body" thing. :(

Yeah i know i might do that. But as a main tattoo that would have to be it. Im sure i would have to get adjusted to the pain of a tattoo first off as well before going all out on a whole arm tattoo as well.

Well I suppose even if you did get the full sleeve done, you'd have to get the outline done first before it was filled in. It would probably take around 2-3 reasonably long sittings to get it finished and done right. Still, starting with something smaller is good, because you know more or less what to expect when getting your larger 'main' tattoo, not just in the chair, but also in terms of aftercare and all that.

Yeah i see what you mean now. Cause since i have no tattoos as of yet then it would like you said be best to get a smaller one so i would no how to take care of it once i got back home. But even though i have heard people say getting tattoos hurt like hell, I think when i get my first tattoo it probably wont hurt that much.

Im prolly the only person in this crew who gets most of their tattoos cus its funny. Like the clown grabbing his junk and flipping the bird on my tummy, the invader zim logo on the ribs, the extremely poorly drawn (on purpose... my kid designed it when she was 2) skull and crossbones on my forearm, my name right on my forearm (so if ya forget just shake my hand again and read it, lol).

I mean some of em I get cus I like em, but most of my tats are jokey as hell cus Im a very jokey person. You shouldnt get tats that dont speak on yer personality.

Heres a pic of one of my tats, you can see the clown on my belly and the naked ladie 30's style navy tat on my arm.

And yes, thats the thundercats sword my friend Megan is holding. SWEET.

Hey, i was looking for some good tribal designs, and I thought this might be the place to ask.

I might be doing some other stuff, but I've wanted a tribal since I was a kid.

Any sites with design collections, or original tribal art?

not the tribal thread here, I have that.
