Only on Lay Your Ghosts to Rest but fuck this is incredible. Can't wait for Sunday now.

To each his own, personally The Safety Fire just seems too much like generic metalcore to me.
Seein em on Saturday so shit should b gud

I'm not sure what it is about Periphery I don't like but they just are generally not for me. Might be the fact their songs are almost all exactly the same, on the self titled anyway. Only one song that stood out to me called All New Materials. Oh and that's another thing, their song names suck too (Jetpacks Was Yes! Totala Mad etc. etc.).

The Safety Fire are just easier to listen to for me.

pretty much this, there are no redeemable qualities to it, except maybe the beat.

Zach Hill's drumming and their overall abrasiveness is why they should only be listened to live, they can't seem to capture the same atmosphere when recording.

Although overall, I feel as though Death Grips is just something for upper-middle class suburban white kids to listen to so they can feel hip, similar to Odd Future. Which proves to be the case, because /mu/ fucking adore both of them and they're equally as terrible as each other.

you might not enjoy their music but debasing them as shit pretty much implies there is no talent between them which is simply false

Now there's a pretty big difference between not having talent and being shit.

Death Grips definitely show talent, but it just seems to be that they did absolutely nothing with this new release, it's almost as if they feel like they can release anything and the internet will love it simply because it's Death Grips. I mean, even their album art is just a cock.

When I want to remind myself that Death Grips have talent, I keep getting drawn back to this. This performance just doesn't compare to say, the intro track from NLDW.

I'm not really a fan of Death Grips. I don't think they suck, it's just not my thing. I'd rather listen to Hella or something

So ToastedCupcake. I've given a few listens to Cloudkicker's album The Discovery, and I must say that I like it. I don't know why I thought I didn't like the guy's work. Even in my iTunes Library some of the tracks had 5 stars. So it means that even back when I first encountered that music I liked it.

Well, at least not I remember it's good :)

seems to me like you got a bit carried away and began spewing out information before you gave him a fair listen. either way, I'm glad you like him, the discovery is probably his most generic album honestly though. you should check out beacons and fade, they both have entirely different feels than the discovery.

Seems to me that you are being judgemental. I had honestly given the guy a listen in the past and stayed with the idea that it was kind of generic. Upon relistening I actually realised I liked the music. There was no bad intention in what I said, and I don't have a closed-mind when it comes to music.

I will give the other albums a listen, of course. I liked what I've heard so far, and while we are discussing Cloudkicker, I would like to recommand you Scale The Summit. You might already know them, but if you don't they are a must when it comes to instrumental progressive metal/rock.

yeah, we discussed scale the summit a while ago in the metal hell thread, I believe. they're easily in my top 5 favorite bands, they have my most plays on last.fm after all. I can't wait for more music by them, they've released a new single already.

In the past but I've not spoken to strangers on Last.fm in ages now. However, I do like how I can see my sister and a friend of mine on my neighbours and see myself on their neighbours pages.

I don't think I can relate very well to young black men and women aside from the music stuff...
