Mods aren't chosen randomly.They choose the people who are most mature and do not go power crazy.

Q: How does one become a moderator?
A: First rule: Don't ask to be a mod! Rather, be a model poster, act mature, and help point out problems to the current mods if they seem to have overlooked something (but don't be pesty about it). If we decide we need more mods, this will help make you more eligible. Being a consistent user for months on end will improve your chances as well.

Well, YOU don't. But for those of us who don't type like a retard and add 3 question marks to everything, it's done by strictly adhering to the newground BBS rules, making your posts a high quality, and making the administrative team think that you would be an asset to them.
