There is also a difference between Trance and Techno, but they have the same general idea of how the genres are to be presented and how they sound. But, they can be likened to one another even though the differences can sometimes be great.

That the point I was trying to make with the comparison between Dragonforce and Dream Theatre; the way they present the music sounds kind of the same like thats the way they make popular music in that certain style in that part of the world, but as for genres, they are obviously different.

Have ever listened to Dream Theater? Or DragonForce?
The only similarity is that they happen to use the same instruments.
DragonForce are Power Metal.... they hardly ever write riffs and instead focus on guitar solos... otherwise its just the same note really fast, then some sustained power chords.
Gallop, solo.... solo.... gallop.... thats DragonForce.

Dream Theater on the other hand are Prog Metal, all about insane technicality, odd time signatures and as many riffs as possible in a song. Everything in Dream Theater is a lot more complex and a lot more musical.
DragonForce are about fun, Dream Theater are about serious, progressive, non-commercial music.

DragonForce consist of two Englishmen, a Hong Kongian (for lack of the real term), a Frenchman, a Ukranian and a South African.

Nah, but sometimes, LaBrie's singing reminds me of ZP's, any maybe on the DT solos, I think about DragonForce, but other than that, no, I don't think those 2 bands sounds a lot like each other.

its not just that its cheesy...thats pretty much a part of all power metal. it also just isnt well written. for instance in one song they have a sentance that uses the word fire 3 times. repitition is not a good technique in lyrics.
