Oh my god, I was freaked out when I tried logging in, then I found a post by myself and realized my name was magically changed and the inactive account that would have had it before has seemed to have disappeared.
This is definitely what I would call progress, thanks to everyone working behind this, it would have been nice to have a PM explanation right after I logged in though I had no idea what happened to my account even after I found the correct username until I looked into the forums.

Perhaps you guys ought to put in place a system to prevent names from being 'saved' for too long. So if an account goes inactive for over a year or is never used or whatever else it automatically gets a 1 added on to the end of it to keep the names freed up.
I like this change. I always hated glancing down at the users online list to see four or five lines full of -XXXXXXXXXXX- names and a line or two of _XXXXX_ at the bottom. It cleans things up a little bit.
I'm also looking forward to the massive change NG will be going through. The new layout and future plans will be awesome.
