megamanbn4re, welcome to the club! If you really want to show you're a member, you can put something as simple as "Member of the Sprite Club" in your sig. It really isn't necessary. All that we ask is you be a positive contributor to this thread whether it be with questions, comments or crticisms. Thanks and, again, welcome aboard!

Well, you know me - no air is too hot, no wind is too long. ;)
PeanutButterX
Thanks for changing to PeanutButterX! I was liking referring to you as "PBX". It had a cool ring to it.

I'm pretty embarrased at the fact that my English is perfect and I can't speak super-fast spanish being raised by a 100% Colombian family.
Believe it or not, that's more common than you'd think. Are you taking Spanish in school?
This [sprite recolor] proves I'm bored outta my mind.
I know the sprite isn't something you're dedicating your time to, but if you had put a bit of red in the outfit, it would have balanced a bit better. Other than that, it looks slick.
All the Servbot sprites you did were cute! I'm not familiar with the character, but it looks like a Lego man to me.

i've been busy improving my animation ... i'm still crap at making sprites ... i'm going to try and give it a go using adobe streamline
Excellent! You can only get better with practice and the right attitude. Good luck with everything! I've never heard of Streamline; what's that about?

i will try to ink it in now....becuse it will be hard to see wen i take pictures with a digi-cam.
That's a good idea. I ink the pictures I scan because when I shrink it down, the sketches tend to get too muddy and hard to decipher.

Well DUH. I was just making a STATEMENT.
Please don't hide behind that excuse; it's too thin. There's a difference between a statement and an implication. You offered nothing else in your statement other than a derisive note. You found no need to comment on his excellent color choices for shading or how well he animated it in a later post. This is a positive arena with varying degrees of talent. Not one of us does or has the right to look down our nose at the work of others. We offer encouragement and advice. If you don't have those things to contribute, I kindly ask you not to post here again.
(In reference to using someone else's unedited Link sprites on his sheet) It's clear that I custom-made some of the sprites, based on the exact same sheet that your friend found. Where the hell did I write on that sheet "Property of NazelbikAuthor"?
On that page where the sheet appears, you did wrote "Sprites by NazelbikAuthor-Do not steal" and permutations of that warning 4 times! That sounds like "Property of NazelbikAuthor" to me, yet not once did you give credit to whoever created those 6 Link sprites. By saying nothing, you're guilty of allowing people to assume those are your sprites. Why did you do that which you so strongly warn against?
(About not putting his original sprites in action poses) ... most of them are purely scratched, so I like to think that they are no "easy to do" edits.
But if you're as good as you say you are, they shouldn't be that difficult.
(About the grey-haired sprites hair being too flat) No... you don't understand. I MADE him that way. That's his hairstyle, what can I say.
Then you need to learn a bit more about light source, shading and hair texture. The hair, as it is now, looks like a helmet sitting on his head.
(About using black holding lines) I used blacklines because I wasn't convinced darker shades of color would look better.
That's purely a style issue. While black linework tends to make the characters 2-D and too simplistic, it's not unheard of to use. It is a bit telling of the spriter's limited abilities and I thought you'd like to be viewed better than that.
(About showing admittedly unimpressive work and being ready to claim to be able to make a sprite out of anything) It almost sounds like an insult, but I guess you're only trying to give a good critic.
Honestly, my only intent is to be a good critique. I always try to be thorough and honest. I'm a bit blunt at times, but I get my point across.
there's something bothering me : Who are you to criticize so much?
This year will mark 30 years I've been drawing. In 2 years, I will have worked off and on in the visual entertainment arena for a decade. To name only a few things - my latest work will be printed in "Ripperman", a comic from Chanting Monks Press; I've been the "script doctor" for the last two Jon Pay comics from BDP; I have work published in a rock 'n' roll poster book called Electric Frankenstein; I've done ad work for Tom Mandrake's comic series Creeps from Image; I'm currently a successful freelance Flash animator / writer / cartoonist and I used to teach cartooning and visual storytelling. I've got a lot of experience, I've made all the common mistakes (and have invented a few!) and I will always have something new and amazing to learn about art that I'm willing to share.
