That blows, Tom, sorry to hear about it. Better a playstation than one of the computers I guess though.

Yeah, maybe you should lock that games room door :p

My advice, make a vistor pass system so that if you catch anyone walking about the office who you don't know, you have to show a pass so theres no confusing if you guys know them or not

Response to Office Robbery 2006-06-26 13:11:23

That sucks so bad, dude. The robber did have some major balls entering NG HQ during normal work hours..But the 5-0 shouldn't have problemos catching that guy anywayz, so don't worry about the gear got stolen..Material damage isn't that important conserning that the guy might have been a junkie on roll or stuff..

No offence, but I was a little "shocked" to hear that NG HQ didn't have security cams up and running and that you do keep the doors open for people just like that.Like Tom said:"Luckily, noone got hurt". Maybe even a legal piece of sorts should be accessable..

The reports about the culprit wearing a pickle hat are false! FALSE I SAY!

Sorry to hear you guys got robbed, but as you said, you're lucky they didn't steal something much more valuable and furthermore, nobody was hurt.

Tom, this is why you need to hire me and FUNKbrs on to provide building security. FUNK can kill people with the flick of his wrist, and I can dispose of the bodies leaving no trace...

That sucks, but could have been worse. The NG server could have been busted or poor Tom could have been wounded. Now that wouldn't be good.

Whew!! Thatnk GOD you guys are OK!
The thing I've learned from bartending a speakeasy and being a drug adddict is the following: If they CAN, they WILL!
I've hung out with some shady characters in the past and that's the mentality. If it's not nailed down, and there aren't people looking directly at it, it will be gone.
SOme of those simple laptop locks can do wonders tho... kensington makes a good one for like $50.

There's always people there, Tom's there early in the morning almost every single day. Stamper was right there and talked to the guy, there's really not a 100% deterent for that sort of thing, because even with a receptionist the guy could just say "I'm here to see Tom blah blah blah."

And, ya, next time buy cameras BEFORE expensive toys that you don't need.

Funnily enough, the "expensive toys that [they] don't need" are a business expense considering they're console game developers. Almost everything in that room was a tax write-off, minus probably the other games purchased.

No way, Jose. I would never be so ungrateful. Not to mention I'm pretty sure you guys would recognize one or all of us on sight. Just look for the lack of sun exposure and sore wrists.

Plus stealing a Playstation? Blegh. I'd take your Xbox. >:-)

Seriously, that sucks Tom, what idiot would just come in and take a PS2?

Think about it. 1. Tom said he was freakishly tall, like Wade Fulp tall. 2.Maybe Stamper doesn't know what Wade looks like. Besides, he only has one working eye. Can't wait for them to call him in for a lineup. The guy saw Stamper, so he'd know who's ass to rape when it's all over. >:D

I've always imagined stamper as carrying some sort of weapon with him wherever he went. Like a lead pipe or baseball bat or something.

Well there's goes my view on the NG office.

I used to be relevant.

Someone that wanted to sell a ps2 for drugs.

But seriously, even if he did get caught he wouldn't be facing a big punishment.

Response to Office Robbery 2006-06-26 14:52:59

Damn that sucks ass. Please let us know if you get your stuff back. I was robbed here just a few days ago... my wallet was taken... but a PS2 with all that stuff.... DAMN!

Actually a lot of people make a hobby of this and do it as an everyday thing.

I have this aquantince (well, former) and 2 days after the XBox 360 came out he stole 2,000 of them and over 15,000 Xbox/360 games and was selling the 360s for $200 and the games for $20 each which was dirt cheap but made his ass $8,000 in less then a week then when the cops was asking around for him he left to go to Florida (which is where he's from).

So yeah people just steal mass amounts of video game equipment cause it's an easy sale, kinda surprised he didn't take the Xbox as well but then again it was just one man.
